Altering a digital image card

Image
A new challenge starts today over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.   For the next TWO weeks it is "Let's Decorate or Embellish IT".  The sponsor is Floppy Latte Designs.  This is an oldie I had in my files from months back.  It really isn't a Christmas image at all, but I turned it into a pretty Christmas card.  I did alter the image by cutting off the leaves and adding holly, but the flower and swirls are original.  I printed multi prints and layered the flower making it more poinsettia style.  The flower is mounted on an embossed, pearlescent paper, then on dark green before adding to the card base, same with the sentiment.  I added red rhinestones to the holly leaves, silver beads to the center of the flower and a holly branch to the bow.  The sheer red ribbon (not the bow) was coated with clear sugar dust and white glitter. Here is the image I started with.  I know there is a holiday this week (here in the States) but there is PLENTY of time to join this chal

Acrylic painting

sitting on a rather dirty patio chair Just a quick post before finishing the packing.  This is a painting I did this last week.  I LOVE abstracts and have always wanted to try a large ( for  me this is large ) painting.  This really has quite a few coats of paint, ink sprays and graze.  There was modeling paste added for texture and stenciling just because I wanted something besides squares..........thus the bold white ( not real sure about that bold white, but I'm not re-painting it....LOL ). Below are some close ups and the final picture is of it hanging on my living room wall.  I don't normally hang MY art work in the rest of the house, but I needed a spot of color in this corner. Unruly Paper Arts has a RAQ 1: tantalizing textures challenge that will end tomorrow, I am entering this right at the last minute.  PLUS they have a RAQ 2 : Stenciling challenge so I'm putting this in THAT too. I do hope you will drop by and vote for me! So that's it for me, shor

Beach Babes Ornament

Image
This week I have for you an ornament that features an image form the Rogue Redhead Desings' RRD005 Beach Babes   .  I wanted an antique looking ornament, and I was lucky enough to have a chip board ornament left over from last year, and this little guy just fit the opening.  He is stamped in StazOn black and colored with sepia and burnt ocher pencil.  The ornament was stamped with a background  stamp form the Rogue Redhead Designs RRD011 Nature Notes  using StazOn timber ink, then using a pom-pom I shaded the ornament with the same timer color.  Once all was dry I used a coat of clear rock candy, and used a paint pen for the very top.  A little holly with red rhinestones to finish it. I am still fascinated with the end results of this ornament, and how quickly it all came together! I can't wait to put it on my tree. Thanks for stopping by Inky Hugs Krisha

WOYWW 233 Stacking canvas

Image
WOW! What a mess huh? Well IT IS time for WOYWW with our hostess Queen of WOYWW: Ms. Julia So what is on ole Betsy this week, besides the canvas in progress?  Oh just lots of junk stuff, found objects, bits of lace and trim, inkpad, baby wipes ( I did get up and close the lid ), paint, pearl pigments, pink rhinestones, ribbon, couple different adhesives  and a couple pairs of scissors. If you were by here last week you'll know how I was bragging about having space, well it fills up quickly! PLUS there is a pile of stencils to the left and a pile of papers to the right!  I was thinking I have a weeks cushion before the big trip, but NO it's NEXT WEEK!  YIKES! There go all my good intentions and my "to do" list has just increased double fold.  So I have been really pushing to get this stack of canvases prepared.  It is a birthday present for my  GD Danica's 3rd birthday. It will be the weekend after we get back. I know she is going to get a lot of toys (

T and a hoT laTTe!

This is my home-made latte ingredients, plus hot coffee.  This is a late afternoon treat for me when I have been a good girl and stayed on my diet.....LOL  It is just a super hot cup of coffee and just a dash of all three ingredients..mmmmmm nice and warm for a chilly late afternoon.  Our days are nice and staying in the mid to low 70' (F) but as the sun goes down so does the temperature, and it is almost dark now.  Elizabeth is sporting root beer float over at Altered Book Lover  , but I'm linking up with a hot latte. Since we last met I have managed to finish deep cleaning my house WOOT! WOOT! now to keep it up...LOL  I also finished 3 Christmas ornaments for the Gecko Galz ornament swap.  Here is what they look like: ( I don't think any of them are around for T ) 3 for the swap On for the Hostess All are at least 3 layers thick before the designer paper and the image, so they are very stout, like a good chip board ornament.  Which is your favorite?  Tru

Angel Challenge Ornament

Image
Happy, Happy Monday! and Welcome to my little corner of blog-world.  To day I am showing off an angel ornament that is also my DT piece for The Cheerfyl Stamp Pad Challenge #73  , "angel wings, or things with wings" ( I apologize  for it hanging so lopsided ) This is the beginning of the second week of this challenge so there is still plenty of time to join the fun. I die cut the 2 red and 2 white shapes, and glued the red ones together.  I wanted a little sparkle but not real glittery, so I used a tinseled red embossing powder.  I had stamped the images on the white before using the die, otherwise I would never get it centered...LOL  This ornament is double sided, so two images were colored with Prisma colored pencils then each side of the red die cut received an image.  The holly was also added to both sides, and that may be why it isn't hanging straight.  Oh well it's for my tree and I'll deal with it later.  I added some beads and a tiny red bell to the b

Christmas Tag

Image
Hello peeps! Today I am continuing the saga of making Christmas tags from last year's images. I had this digi colored, cut and ready to go, but she went into the left-over envy instead.  I received her in an image swap, so I'm not sure who the creator is.  She is mounted on a piece of designer paper that I had stamped different Christmas sentiments in red.  The designer paper was a bit lighter green than I needed so there was some darker green added around the edges.  I was  digging   exploring a drawer of odds and ends and came across this Anna Griffin frame that I thought fit the image nicely.  I added some dark green bling to the edges of the frame and then mounted it on a red designer paper tag.  The ornament at the bottom is really a dark green glittery color, but doesn't show in the photo. This tag is laying on an other piece of the designer paper that I have been using from the K and Company Designer Paper pack I have been using.  Can't say enough about this

WOYWW 232~Betsy and the Shelf

Image
Just look at the work space!!  It took some maneuvering of many different things, but I have SPACE on Betsy! LOL Thursday I encountered a scrapbook store that was closing ( so sad to see it go ) and I wondered around a picked up a few good sale items, like Dylusions  spray inks at 50% off. ( so I got one of each color they had left LOL, been wanting some of these )  In fact the whole store, fixtures and all were 50% off..  They have been in the closing mode for awhile, because there really wasn't much really good stuff left.  I came across a shelf and brackets that I knew would fit my space, and Betsy is really in need of GOOD shelving, so I picked it up. (grin ) Well, if you have been here before you know how much stuff has been crammed into poor ole Betsy.  As I removed all the junk things from the area I wanted to put the shelf I got to organizing a few of the other areas and making some work space.  I finally decided that my two wine coolers really should be closer to the

Late for T.............again!

Image
I usually post my T-day on Monday night or very early on Tuesday morning, but Today I'm rather late, even for me.  What am I going on about?  Check it our here at The Altered Book Lover: Elizabeth and her pal Bluebeard I woke up early this morning and what do ya know, Mr. MOJO was here ready to go.........OH WAIT!  It was my CLEANING MOJO!!! LOL So I went over the bedrooms and bathrooms, keeping them up and tidy, vacuumed and dusted, as I had deep cleaned them last week.  Then, since DH was home and hogging this PC, I decided ( with a huge push for Mr. MOJO ) that I really did need to finish the kitchen.  All the cabinets are done inside and out, but in scrubbing the outsides of the cabinets I managed to leave a clean strip on the ceiling!!! Yep! I had bought a brand new mop and the first place it was used was on the kitchen ceiling!  Then onto scrubbing the tile and grout before giving the floor the cleaning it has needed for weeks.  By now it was lunch time and I was starving

A New Challenge Starts Today

Image
That's right there is a new challenge up at the   Cheerful Stamp Pad  starting today.  The challenge for then next two weeks is "Angle Wings"  Great challenge for all of you getting into the Christmas spirit, or just like Angels. This is my DT piece, but got it posted a little on the late side, so if you don't see it on The  Cheerful Stamp Pad  blog it will be there next week. As I have been posting I am making tags for Christmas gifts , and of course angels are perfect.  I have had this stamp for 20 years and she is still one of my favorite angels.  I decided to paper piece her together stamping and embossing each piece with gold, then fussy cutting each piece out.    The tag base is covered with a gold card stock and then dry embossed with a sheet of music.  I mounted the angel onto a beautiful white dice cut from my friend Carole, then onto the tag.  I added a charm for the halo, a rhinestone start to replace the stamped image of the one she is holding.  Two mo

Santa on a Tag: Believe

Image
I can't quite get into the C-cards yet so I went into a "tag" mode.  I have decided that I am going make tags for my gifts this year, and since I have images left-over from last year I am starting with those.  This Santa is one of those images, and is from Stubby Stampers and I think he is perfect for a gift tag.  The background is a designer paper from K & Company called Designer Paper.  I have fallen in love with this 12 x 12 pad of paper.  They are double sided ( even better ) and do not require much, if any altering.  I did no altering to this tag, just added the fussy cut Santa, some Holy leaves, and rhinestones.  I did stamp and emboss a Christmas star and added a star stone to that.  A Merry Christmas ribbon finished it. I find that Mr. MOJO and I tend to have more fun in the mornings,  sometimes even in our PJs.  I have a very tacky, inky, and glittery robe to prove it! LOL  Then there are mornings that I get on a real roll and roll all day.  Hey, I'

Getting Inky on a Tag

Image
Hello FRIDAY!!  Did you think it was going to be left out this week?  LOL   Today's offering is a tag that I had loads of fun creating, and is my DT piece for the Rogue Redhead Designs  blog.  Not been there?  Oh my, wonderful place and the design team I get to play with are top-notch gals! I started with a water color tag, for strength, but really had no direction of where I was going to go with this tag..  I did glue a patterned paper to it, but it kinda got lost oncest I really got started. From there I just kind-a threw stuff at it, and what stuck I used!!  LOL I used stamps from the Rogue Redhead Designs RRD 012: Behind the Scenes , using Timber StazOn ink.  The sentiment is from RRD013 This N That plate.   The die cuts were a gift from Carole check her out here. The middle medallion I used Pearl Ex on the middle, and touched the outer edges with while acrylic paint.  For a little "bling" I added a rhinestone to the middle and to each corner. I

Frosty the Snowman Card

Image
I finally started with the Christmas season early this year.  The new Christmas cartridge for my Cricut got it started with cutting ornaments.  I had started putting the layers together and reached for the Christmas stamps, and what do ya know, there in the front of the box was an envy with images that hadn't been used last year.  I right then and there decided to use them before starting on anything new. LOL This charming snowman is from Stubby Stampers and was just sitting in the envy already colored, and trimmed out. The background paper looks black, but really is a navy blue for a good contrast.  A designer snowflake paper was added (I do have a thing about snowflakes) and a blue ribbon with snowflakes on it down the side.  The sentiment is on of the Inkadinkado stamps printed with a SU ink.  I added one of the many snowflake charms I own to the sentiment with a jump ring so that it actually moves. Now that I am posting it, I realize what an oxymoron this card is.  I mean

WOYWW 231:Love N the Competition!

Image
Oh yah!  We have a brand new Hobby Lobby now and the competition is on!!  I dashed into Michaels this afternoon, still trying to track down some card stock like I bought last year.  Well, blow me down they were having a pretty good sale on some of my favorite things!! Oh, you came for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday huh? Well if your not, you should hope over to Juila's, (our most honored hostess)  and see what I am going on about, link up and join the party!  Okay,  so here is Betsy this week,  Hummm, that is quite a pile up of stuff, don't ya think?  There are some Christmas ornaments I cut last week, that have a layer or two on them.  Not real happy with them yet.  A balsa wood tray I hauled in from the spare bedroom that needs a face lift, and in it are the tags I made this week, couldn't plot the tray on top of them.  There is also the new stash I acquired today, bells and charms, and see the  bright pink card with the flowers?  Those were 25 cents for the wh

I Believe it's T-Day

coffee here  Oh my, what does that mean?  It means that this is my post for T stand for Tuesday, with Elizabeth and Bluebeard , and a chance to wander around and see what others have in their cuppas and what they have been doing since last we met.  A very cheerful group that are willing to show you their "Mug Shots" for the week. Okay, so here is the second cup I bought a couple weeks ago, if you were here last T-Day I shared the green on that said "Keep Calm and Move ON", only I didn't have the spoon in the slots of the handle.  I really am thinking about going back and getting a couple more of these red ones for Christmas gifts. This morning I started a walking routine, that I HOPE I keep doing more than one day a week. LOL  My poor dog, Dyna, is getting to look more like a red pig-dog, or as my cousin says a keg on legs. So, I figure she is going to be a good walking buddy! I used to  be an avid walker, about 10 years ago, making a 4 mile loop ever

What Color are YOUR leaves??

Image
Why are mine are purple and yellow?  Weeelll, as I tell my GD, when asked what color to make something "You are the artist and you can make it what ever color you want it to be!"  I know that someday one of her teachers will be giving me a call about that! LOL. This is actually my DT card for The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge: Purple and Yellow .  This is one of the hand  drawn (ok, I traced the leaves) and hand painted water color fronts I have been working on.  As I started on this mini painting, I wondered about the colors, then thought why not?  Last year I did purple pumpkins......LOL This is the last week for this challenge, are you up to it??? Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment to let me know you were here, and I'll come visiting. Inky Hugs Krisha

There is a holiday between Halloween and Christmas that only gets one shelf in the retail stores, including most craft stores, and always has Christmas music in the background.  This is so sad to me, because it is a day of Thanksgiving, maybe the ONLY day some people give thanks for all their blessings (or what ever you want to call them).  So today, before I do get started blogging about What I am making for Christmas, I want to take a moment to THANK YOU all of my blog followers. They may not be high in number, but they keep me blogging and sharing my creativity.              THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!            CTgirl   Denise Price   Лена Шкарубина   Nan G   glenda brooks   milissa d   carol   Martha's Favorites   Sam Healey   annaelycm   Tracey Fletcher King
