Tuesday's T Party

Image
Hello T-gang, and new followers and anyone else who has just dropped in.  I started Monday morning with coffee and then switched to a bottle of good clear water, as I was anticipating a new journal page.......thinking "collage" for the Art Journal Journey challenge I've been going on about all this month.......but also something for T Stand for Tuesday . The white line across Betsy is the sun shinning through the blinds......it was a very pretty day today.   Here is how the page eventually turned out.  So here is to all the T-gang !!   Next week I will be MIA as it is time for our annual Thanksgiving trip up to the desert......can you believe Thanksgiving is already upon us??  Who is having traditional turkey?  We usually have both ham and turkey ( because we love the leftovers) and of course all the trimmings......even though we have cut the portion sizes way down as non of us eat as much as we used too. Sorry about the flash reflection, but it doe

Warm Winter Wishes...........

Oh, yes, it is THAT time of year when we have to start looking at getting holiday cards ready. This background for this card was made by wrapping tinfoil around a piece of card stock, then using an embossing folder to emboss it........I do love snowflakes!  The snowman is from a stamp and die set and he is popped off the face of the card with pop dots. I am entering this card in Unicorn Challenge Blog #15 snow-snowflakes I do want to take a moment and thank my new followers for following my blog....hope I don't disappoint.

Years ago I put "collage" work back on the shelf and forgot about it......then, Art Journal Journey put up a challenge.......COLLAGE but with the 3 NO, NOs........no faces, no wings, and no leaves. Plus I have joined a group of Mixed Media Madness, over at The Inspiration Place  ......GAME ON!!! I have pulled all the collage materials back OFF the shelf and have put them in motion again.  I forgot how much I really enjoy collage.....AND mixed media! Please forgive the horrible photo today, I'm trying to use up all my Mod Podge........which glares with a flash.....and move into a matte medium. A little closer look so you can see the designer paper I used for the hearts and the script tissue paper I recently purchased ( but I don't remember where). This challenge runs through the whole month so there is still time to join in the fun.

Virginia's card

I have a friend.....much younger than me.....in fact I knew her through her childhood, ( her girls even call me Grandma) and her birthday is this coming Saturday.  Aren't birthdays fun....when they happen to someone else?       So, with a wink and a nod I created this card for her.  The image is an AI image and quick to add a little watercolor to.  She is definitely a "glitter" girl so the balloons were stamped on glitter paper, then trimmed to fit the card. I chose the fuchsia, turquoise, and purple glitter as they are the colors  for the Rubber Dance Challenge for November  .  Such a quick and easy card to create, and I love using a black card base.   Here is the inside.   Thanks for stopping by and taking a look......I do hope you'll leave a comment.   Hello Blogging Friends......what a fine day this is!    I have been working on a two page layout in one of my smaller journals and finally finished it last night. I have really been enjoying the theme over at Art Journal Journey this month......No faces, No wings and No leaves.....But COLLAGE. I found the pattern for the ballerina feet over at The Art Sherpa Website On the right side of her page there are a number of patterns she offers for free.  I printed it out and transferred it onto watercolor paper.  I chose Inktense Watercolor pencil to color it in.....then a good coat of sealer........then trimmed it out. The background started as a mop-up page of paint, from there I went in many directions....Gesso, Gelatos, Pitt pens, Spectrum Noir pens, Washi tape and more paint..........always more paint...LOL!  Once I had the background and the boarder pretty much the way I wanted it I added the ballerina feet and painted in the sentiment. This just might have to be done

T Stands for Elections and Junk Food

Image
I was up early.....earlier than usual due to time change....so I was at the voting poll when the door opened.  I was sooooo hungry I went to Mc Donald's and got a sausage and egg muffin....and they aren't any good without hash browns.....so I got them too...LOL!  Today's photo was supposed to be my coffee and a lemon bar from a bakery a friend of mine opened......but she said they wouldn't be ready until about 9:30.......so I'll catch a couple on the way home from the bank.... they will be just as good for lunch.  She makes them just like my Mama did.  Yes I have the recipe, but if I make them I will eat the whole pan........if I buy from Tammy I will only get two.  I might even take a picture for next week. I said it was a Junk Food Day.....  Can't wait to read the comments about this from the T-gang  LOL! A lot of the T-gang have already linked up, so I better get with it and then I'm off to visit as many as I can before the bank opens.......

I hope everybody is having a delightful and crafty day, thanks for stopping by. Like the title of this post?  Yep! It is a double entry for the Art Journal Journey  challenge of No faces, No, leaves and No wings.....BUT COLLAGE, .brought to us this month by Susi......an art journal master....or is it mistress?  So I had a grand "playtime" yesterday.  I was really working two journals at the same time, and got a little carried away with the paint on this one and covered all the collage.....LOL!  I do love to muck about with my paint and inks.  I knew "what" I wanted to do before I got so carried away, so a different avenue I had to take.  I chose a sheet of vellum, very thin and as transparent as I could find....tore the edges and then sprayed the back with spray adhesive.....then plopped it on the page.  A little Washi tape for the boarder and then the time piece was added.  Since it is a NO face challenge, I put the hands in different positions as to NOT

To the Moon and Back

Image
A journal page for the Art Journal Journey challenge ......No faces, No leaves, No wings.   This page has a lot of layers and was inspired by the picture I pulled off the internet about November 14, when the moon will be closet to the earth.....or a Lunar Perigee. Lunar Perigee and Apogee The Moon's path around the Earth is elliptical, with one side of the orbit closer to Earth than the other. The side closest to the Earth is called the perigee and the side farthest from the Earth is known as the apogee . The Moon's phase and the date of its approach to its perigee or apogee are not synced, though sometimes it is possible for a full Moon to occur close to the Moon's perigee. This is known as the Supermoon . When this happens, the Moon may look larger than a normal full Moon or a micro Moon , a full Moon that occurs at the apogee. From Earth, a supermoon can look up to 12-14% larger and about 25-30% brighter than a micro moon.  From: Date and Time  Ok,

The Last of Fall Colors......

Image
I'm not positive THIS card is the LAST of the FALL colors, but I'm pretty sure it will be...LOL! It was made with a stamp and die set I picked up for a song......well close to it.  It was regularly $15.00 but I found it on the sale wall at Hobby Lobby for $5.00!!  There is a die for all the shapes but I just used the small flower die and popped it up with a pop dot.  I mixed the orange and brown ink right on the stamp for the sentiment.   I am entering it in this challenge:   Challenge 274: Fall Colors I know this is a short post.....for me (grin) but I am doing some catch up blogging this morning BEFORE starting anything else.....LOL!

A New Art Journal

Image
Welcome blogging friends! Gosh, can you believe we nearing the end of the first week of November and that Thanksgiving is only 21 DAYS away?? GASP!!!   Art Journal Journey has a new challenge for November......NO FACES, NO WINGS, NO LEAVES but COLLAGE Susi's choice this month.....isn't she a clever one? No faces, no wings, no leaves.....Making us step out of our comfort zones....Bravo Susi! I decided to break out a new journal that has been sitting on the shelf....from back when Michael's had a super sale on them......buy one get two free..........I mean, really would you have passed that sale up??   I chose to use a paper weave for the background, this is an old scrapbooking technique, but was just brought back to my attention when I joined up with The Inspiration Place.       Speaking of Michael's Craft Store........ I dashed in there yesterday to pick up some white alcohol ink and walked by one of those isle bins that had a sign that sai

T Day and 2nd Look

Image
Here I am, first thing this chilly Tuesday morning, and my first cup of coffee.  All set up to join the T-gang  for this weeks drink and eats party.  A little Happy Mail from our Deb...  yes it did make it on time, in fact it came on the 31st Deb!   I'm also adding my Second on the 2nd post with this post.......mainly so I don't forget....LOL!  I know I can schedule it, but that only works if you remember to write it...*grin* Water color technique in black, white and gray August 2010 I had stamped this Anna Griffin image using the water color technique ( from last month ) in black and then the second time with out re-inking to get the shadow effect. It started out a s a mistake, but I liked it so much I used it on this card. The paper flowers in the upper corner were cut with my Cricut and layered with a dot of puff paint for the center. A black ribbon with a white dash, from Really Reasonable Ribbon runs down the side.
