Delicious Solitude

Happy Friday!!  Today I want to share a little wall hanging I created with two stamps from Rogue Redhead Designs Nature Notes RRD011 plate.  I had been using the flaps of a box (out in the garage) to hold thing for a quick spray( of what ever I needed to use) .  The inside of the box was printed with words and I kept telling myself I needed to use it for something.  I finally went out and cut the flaps off and piled them on Betsy (my desk).  I cut off a piece about 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" and started to tear some of the paper off the corrugated side.  I don't think this is what they meant to happen, cause it was on there tight!  I added a light coat of Gesso and some Broken China distressed inks and set it aside.  The picture was stamped onto a tan cs with black ink, then I used the script stamp from the Rogue Redheads Designs Behind the Scenes: RRD012.  and stamped over the whole image, and cut it out, and finally distressed the edges. I stamped the face image again on white paper, colored it with pencil and marker, and trimmed out just the head and glued it over the first image.
I took some cloth tape, added Gesso and distressed ink, then using  StazOn Timer ink I repeatedly stamped the sentiment onto the tape, and tore the edges of the tape.  I added some silk leaves that were toned down with some Gesso, a brown button, some twigs off my tree, a chipboard bird and some little tiny pinecones I had picked up at a campground this last spring.  A piece of raffia for a hanger.  I think this is my favorite hanging, or maybe it's just that I am ready for the fall, the cooler weather and all the fall colors.  It is my favorite time of the year.

Interesting when you use corrugated paper what effects come from painting and stamping. You must be having a day or two to yourself.

Ooh, this is gorgeous! I love the idea of "delicious solitude." I think that all crafters know what that means. :) I also love that you upcycled cardboard for this project. It goes perfectly with the autumn colors.
