Art Journal Journey  still has the Out and About challenge going.......all the way to the end of the month. This month it is Yvonne (  Meggys Way ) who chose the challenge,and it has caused quite a stir of creativity....but you have to check it out to see what I mean. Today I am sharing my latest journal page.......guess I was day dreaming about shopping.  It is mostly acrylic paint, the background being a mop-up from finger painting flowers.  The image of the shoppers is from Art Impressions......I thought they were Park Avenue worthy.   Here we go on a new week, #3 for October.....and it is going to be a crazy busy one around here. So with THAT, I thought I'd better get a jump start on a few things tis morning ( already mid-morning here in SOCAL)  My AI card and cup of coffee are for all my T-Gang .... the inside reads "No talky...before coffee"  sounds about right.   We had some rain last night, it was just starting to sprinkle around 11 P.M.  The ground is not soaking wet so it must have been an off and on rain, but the rain drops were still on my gladiolas this morning.  These are a dark red gladiola, but with the bright sun shinning through them they look orange.  Now that we have had a little wind and a nice shower, the air is so clean and the sky is blue....all the harvest dust is now gone.   Update on the bottle tag/cards.  I have managed to get two made of both of these designs.   I also met a lady, Saturday evening, that has a...

  I have a friend who is an extreme cat lover and she bought this stamp because she also owns a red Vespa.  Her and I got together this past week, bringing our Art Impression Stamps together and stamped each other's images......so this card is for Patty....LOL! Ever have that ONE friend that just compliments you to a T?   Today I'm sharing a card that depicts the type of friendship that lasts through the ages.  It is an Art Impressions Chocolate Therapy  image with ink watercolor technique.  I'm also going to enter this card in their challenge enter challenge HERE There are only a few days left in this challenge, so I'm skidding under the wire....but check out all the fantastic DT work....................lots of inspiration over there.   Happy Labor Day....to those in the USA.........somehow that always marks the beginning of fall to me.  I think it is because when I was school age ( a loooong time ago) we didn't start school until the day after Labor Day.  My, how things have changed.   Over at the Art Impressions Blog  they have a new challenge, it is "water color stamping" and they have just launched some NEW water coloring images........sadly I don't own any of them...."gasp!" BUT I do have this fence image, of theirs, that I have had for ions.  I decided to dig it out of retirement and use it, along with images from Hero Arts, A Country Welcome and some tiny ones from Docrafts.   I love this technique, check out their videos on the challenge page , you will be amazed at what can be achieved with a stamp and damp paint brush. (no I'm not affiliated with this company.....just love their stamps)   Today is a "kick-back" kind of day for us.  DH is clean...

Over at the  Art Impressions Blog they are running a challenge for cute Halloween cards. Yep! Halloween already......but then all the craft stores have their Christmas stuff on display, so why not Halloween now?  But I digress......I'm here to share a post card I made. The witches hat, from TH Crazy Bird set, just seemed to fit the AI stamp from the Hot Java Mama set.....and that is how this post card got it's start....LOL! It is all colored using a water color technique using markers.......I've become so addicted to this technique!  I'm not going to list all the other stamp companies, cause I used so many little ones to finish up the PC.  I just thought it was a fun post card and I really enjoyed making it. There is only a short time left to join this challenge so I better get linked up!  

I'm back this evening with an other Art Impressions Stamp card.  I do love these two laughing gals, they remind me of so many of my friends.....and at our ages we do the bowing, crossed legged stance when we laugh this hard......anyone else do this??? I stamped the image on a flesh colored cs, fussy cut it out, then stamped the image over and over again on the designer papers and fussy cutting everything out...................what else was there to do on a Friday morning?......besides clean and cook. (I did make dinner in the crock pot as I was making some breakfast for DH and myself) BAM! Done!.......LOL  The cleaning will still be there tomorrow......and probably the day after that....LOL!!! This was a fun card to put together using my nesting, stitched dies, glittered foam hearts, a lace cut out and some die cut flowers.  I did dig out some pearls for the centers of the flowers and for the blonde's earrings.  Everything, but the image, was ju...

Hello again!  Yes, I'm still banging around here, doing a little of this and a little of that.  Having DH HERE more than usual makes things complicated.....*grin*  I had set my mind on blogging everyday this month.......well, we know how THAT turned out!!   For some reason HE thinks I should stop blogging, and fix him some breakfast...if you cook you have to clean up.......THEN he wants clean underwear and socks......I tell him we live in SOCAL....you don't need either of them.....LOL  (he didn't think it was funny)     While having a chance to roam around blogland, which means getting up about 2 hours before he does, I stopped by The Art Impressions Blog  and checked out their challenge, and decided that I WOULD take time and enter this challenge, even though it is the 2nd week already.   Their "Girlfriend" stamps always make me smile, and I really like the technique of water coloring the images.  These three are all b...

A little Wednesday/Hump Day humor for you today, before getting ready to dash out the door.   I went on a small card making spree a week ago and got around to making up cards with images that were colored......but stuck in a pile......oh yes, I do have one of those.  I got them all loaded and waiting in the "wings" for days like today, when the afternoon will become very busy in about an hour. I do love my Artist Impressions stamps, especially all the girlfriend ones. This image actually has them sitting on a bench, but I trimmed that away while fussy cutting it all out.  I have had these embossed picture frames for ages.............way back from when I was really, really into scrapbooking.  I sat the GFs on the rim of the frame, with their legs hanging down.  Some very old plaid paper for a mat and then onto the card base.  The sentiment ( from Paper Smootches) just "jumped" onto the card, seemed to fit so I left it.....*grin* So now, I must ...

 I know....bad pun....I can hear you boooing!!!  LOL! Not only is this my second post today but it is a two-fer this Tuesday.......two challenges and two cards in one post. Ok, ok, I'll get to them.....no pun intended there.     First up is a small masculine card made with Fisker's stamps, fussy cut and mounted as seen above.  This card measures 6" x 3 1/2"......like I said a small card.  I call it a ghost of a man.......*grin* I am entering this card in the   Creative Card Crew: 91 masculine challenge   This challenge just started so there is still plenty of time to hop over there and join these fantastic card artists.   Now we have an Artist Impression image and sentiment on an oval card.  No squares since this was made for the Cuttlebug Mania challenge: NO SQUARES. I made the card first, with the designer paper, then ran it through my Big Shot with an oval die, then repeated with the image and sentiment...
