Thriving Art

  I've only done a few Halloween cards this year ( so far).  I don't really send out very many, but this one is going to a friend of mine.  The inside reads "chocolate does the rest" and I'll glue in a chocolate candy. The die cuts came from a stamp and die set I bought on clearance last year.   The background is a fun technique that I learned from visiting Karen's Kreative Kards .  She is one of my new followers and is a DIE CUT QUEEN!  OMGosh, she has some fabulous cards on her blog.   The background is created by wrapping foil over card stock, rubbing with ink.....I used Stazon...placing in embossing folder and embossing.  A quick swipe with and embossing pad, then embossing power and heat!  I must warn you....this can quickly become addictive as each one turns out different!! Over at the  Art Impressions Blog they are running a challenge for cute Halloween cards. Yep! Halloween already......but then all the craft stores have their Christmas stuff on display, so why not Halloween now?  But I digress......I'm here to share a post card I made. The witches hat, from TH Crazy Bird set, just seemed to fit the AI stamp from the Hot Java Mama set.....and that is how this post card got it's start....LOL! It is all colored using a water color technique using markers.......I've become so addicted to this technique!  I'm not going to list all the other stamp companies, cause I used so many little ones to finish up the PC.  I just thought it was a fun post card and I really enjoyed making it. There is only a short time left to join this challenge so I better get linked up!  

Well, it's been over a week since my last post.....and what a week it was.....but that's irrelevant. What I have to share today is more of a customer complaint/Friday smiles.....huh????  Let's just go back to yesterday (Thursday)..............   Having some time on my hands, before getting a back adjustment, I stopped in at Michael's Craft Store.......just for some spray adhesive.......     Here is a silly card that depicts my reaction (Friday Smiles)......AGAIN, since it isn't the first store I've walked into, that has it ALL out (customer complaint).  The ONLY defense, I could give them, was all the Halloween/Fall stuff was 70% off.......LOL.......and did I partake?  For sure!!   While wondering down the art supply isle, I started a conversation with a very nice lady that was looking for some good colored pencils.......as she had two adult coloring books in her arms.  She was gathering something to do while she go...
