AJJ and AEDM

Not familiar with AJJ ( Art Journal Journey ) Click HERE and you will be transported to their blog and to the current challenge......it is a month long so there is plenty of time to join this challenge, and the challenge is "Autumn Colors" easy peasy!!!!

 

The AEDM stands for Art Everyday Month......create each and everyday for the month of November.  You can read more about it HERE.  Of course this is November 1st and the first day of the challenge......well it's still the 1st here is SOCAL.......*grin*  The challenge here is to just create art everyday for a month.....an other easy peasy one.

 

I actually started with a page that I had completed some time ago, but never was pleased with it. I know, I know, I should just leave it but I didn't.  I should have taken a photo of the before page, but I was well on my way before I thought of it.....LOL.

Yellow, red and orange acrylic paint dabbed on with a paint brush was the start of this page. Sorry about the glare......seems I grabbed the glossy yellow.

 

Once the paint was dry I brought out my stencil of leaves, using my fingers I softly added color to the leaves, then outlined them with a Pitt Pen.   The texture you see is from the original page........still love it!! 

 

I added some drips of red Latex ink and sprayed it with a yellow paint....mmmmm a little brighter don't ya think? But rather boring and flat.......no motion or movement.

 

I found this poem on Pinterest and felt it just fit the page, so I printed it, edged it with color and put it on the page........still rather blaaah looking.....as in no personality....but showing some depth now.

 

I found a floating leaf design on the Cricut program, which was really meant for a banner.....but I made use of it as a stencil.  With brown acrylic I colored in the leaves......ahha!!! movement and some personality........made me very happy.

 

So there ya have it, a new journal page and I can use it for both challenges.  Of course my BIGGEST challenge is going to be keeping up with AEDM!  Over Thanksgiving week we be making our annual run up to the desert and I'm not sure I can get the internet there......but that is still weeks away....right??
