Christmas Cards and the count down......

Okay, so there are 20 more days until Christmas and I am still making my cards, so 2-3cards a day for 20 days........that should about do it.....LOL  At this point I will make them as needed for friends.  Family can always get theirs hand delivered!  I am trying to keep them fairly simple, and light weight.  This first card is an other chip board piece, the holes were punched so I removed them, painted the tree and backed it with a gold cs, added red paint and glitter to the base and some very tiny rhinestones to the tree, and digging around in my stash found a rhinestone star for the top of the tree.  The red background paper is a stash piece that also has metallic gold showing through in places.  Ribbon and a reindeer charm finish it off.  The scan looks a little dull but it is a very bright card.
This second card was a quick and simple card.  I embossed the background paper then rubbed a gold embossing ink pad over it and added gold embossing powder.  (say what??)  When I was quite finished with the embossing thing I tinted the edges with TH Vintage Paper and Wild Honey.  The small chip board ornaments have been laying on Betsy for about 3 weeks.  I just added the J-O-Y stickers to them and mounted them on ribbon and then the card.  I guess this is the year for chip board fun.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my cards.  I am trying to keep the blogging short until I can get a little more caught up.  Tomorrow I have to start doing some serious Christmas shopping, not to mention needing some groceries in this house..  Since I know the stores are so hectic during the day I have opted for some night time shopping, like from 7:30 to about 9 or 10.....depending on the store.  I know I'll have to make more than one trip but......Hey that's Christmas!!!

For mailing in bulk, you have to keep it more simple and lighter in weight! If we did a Christmas card a week, we should would be ahead of the game by Christmas!! These both are absolutely fabulous! Love the Tree and the Joyful ornaments! BTW, you might want to check this out and link up the "Joy" card! http://blog.inspirationemporium.com/?p=1223

Sweet cards! You have what sounds like a good plan LOL Hugs
Love the cards! The ribbon on the tree card is so much fun. The embossed card is quite elegant.

I feel that I have created enough cards for this year (I send as many as I make, not make X amount to send) but I can't get motivated to get them into the mail. I tried the other night but if I'm not motivated my handwriting is nigh illegible and the PO has enough problems this time of year. I received one card so far and the lady stamped snowflakes all over the inside so there was no room to write a message, just sign her name. Clever if you ask me!!!
