WOYWW 294

Welcome back all you WOYWW deskers, and anybody else that happened to drop by.  Betsy is rather dusty this week........chalk dust that is! Box of chalks to the left, chalk wheels at the top and the dust al over the place.....LOL  Yep, it is time to start thinking about valentines and I have a couple challenges in mind for this week.  Thus the hearts and the butterfly die cuts.  An Ombre  effect, dirty baby wipe, pencil, scissors and a pointy thing round out the picture.  This is the view Tuesday night and will not change before Wednesday morning.
But this is not how the day started, it started by pulling off the layers and giving Betsy a good cleaning.
This is the actual desk top, now clean of all ink over sprays.
Then I have a large cutting mat......can't cut on the desk top
Next is my silicone mat.......have to have one of those.

Last layer is my gridded paper pad......and a small cutting pad to the right.
Now I'm ready to begin and DH comes home from work early.......grrrr!

Is that enough stacking....or what???  I have a reason for each layer.....honest!

So just why am I showing you all of this???  Cause it is time to link up over at Julia's (who Dunnit at the Stamping Ground) and join in the world wide desk hopping that occurs every Wednesday!

So WHAT IS ON YOUR WROKDESK THIS WEDNESDAY??

Inky Hugs
Krisha                                I AM POSTING THIS IN MY REAR CARD WINDOW!!

I am excited that when I go home I should have a nice new pink craft mat to replace my dirty green one, but will I throw the old one out? Bet you I won't.
Looking forward to seeing what you are up to - now what is the reason for those layers?
Hugs, Neet 3 xx

Love how clean and tidy Betsy is ... was!! I haven't played with my chalks in like forever!! Happy WOYWW Helen 4
You are truly FULL of humor this week. I'm laughing.

I wondered what that was, since I don't have much chalk. Guess I should get mine out and dust it off (grin). I was never impressed with what I got. Of course, I only got four colors in a case.

I know EXACTLY why each of the layers are there. I'm liking your layers, too. Happy WOYWW from #1 and thanks for stopping by earlier.

I've never really played with chalks before, but you've done a glorious job!! LOVE that effect you created. I imagine you have to stop every now & then to clean up with using chalks and sprays!!

Happy Crafting!

We all seem to be in the same mode.....cleaning. There is something about being stuck inside because of bad weather to get me to hunting down those dust bunnies!

And again I find a clean desk... it must be this time of year, ha! I'm curious about all the layers you add before you actually start creating... I myself just put some old newspaper pages on my desk... Do you tell us the reasons for the layers next Wednesday? Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #51
Betsy looks very clean and shiny there. I love your car sticker.

Hi Krisha, chalk does make so much mess, I agree. Love the saying, laughed when I saw it on Pinterest a while ago. I think everyone has been desk cleaning &clearing lately. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #17xxx

I should have a cutting mat too, I use glass instead, but that is not so good for the knife. And paper, that is very useful I have that too on my desk. Have a nice time crafting

Hi Krisha, wow, your desk came up so clean... and yes, the layers are all necessary and I also have a little cutting mat to the side like you!! I had some of those chalks but didn't get on with them very well... maybe I was doing it wrong... Happy WOYWW from Annette #13
Hey why is it everybody does that@ I can faff about all day and just as I get into things it's time to start dinner (and run round finishing the housework I left all day). All these tidy desks, there definitely is something in the air... thanks for your earlier visit, Cindy #50

Hmm, I somehow knew that underneath the paper your desk would be properly clean..but the stack I can't say I get....inmy work method I'd have to move everything every five minutes to access the different layers. Share your method won't ya?! And yep, I get it...by the time you're ready to settle...time''s up!

I love the ombre effect of the chalk! I bet you ended up with more on you than on the card though - it always happened like that when my boys used to play with them when they were little :-) I hadn't even thought of Valentine's yet...nooo, we've only just got over Christmas. But I suppose us crafters are always one step ahead :-)
I like your layered desk but have no real idea why you need all the different layers. I don't have a paper crafter's head!

great looking desk either way! I stack my desk almost exactly like you do! Cutting pad, then the mat, and paper pad removing as I need to or reshuffling. I use chalks some but have gotten in to watercolor in various forms to the the lighter looks. Husbands have a way of spoiling the fun don't they. Have a great week. Vickie #33

I am actually wondering why you need that larger cutting mat, since you are obviously not using it, but the smaller one... But I took my large craft mat away ( because the smaller one is sufficient) and came up with a storage problem... It is now tucked into the seat of a sofa, and I barely remember I have it :)
