Celebratie Your Birthday Tag

" Monday, Monday, so good to me...." (I will humm this song all day)
I do hope that all our blog friends, that lived through some devastating tornadoes, over the weekend are all safe and sound.  Things are just "stuff" that can be replaced, but our friends are priceless.

Soooo, what a weekend around here.  Saturday morning I started by getting all inky with this tag.  I did a gel resist first, to make the background, then wet the tag and ran inks all down it, spraying more water as I went.  I had some tattered flowers cut out of white cs, so I put a little ink in the centers, and on the leaves.  They looked a little dry, so they got a spritz of H2O and wrinkle.  I found a chip board butterfly and used Inktense pencil and a wet brush to blend in the ink.  I added seed beedz to the center of the flowers and turquoise beedz to the edge of the butterfly.

The sentiments were chosen because it was MY birthday Saturday and I have decided to celebrate being the age I am, along with all the aches and pains that I have earned through the years ( Yes, even the black eye a couple weeks ago) Around noon we headed to the fair grounds for BBQ cook off.....MMMMM good eats for sure, came home and were lazy the rest of the afternoon.

Sunday we were busy getting the extra fuel tank into the truck, so we don't have to fuel every 100 miles while towing the trailer (Grandma's Playhouse) Then to my oldest son's to do a paint touch up on a cabinet in their trailer, and a quick dip in the pool with GDs.  On the way home we pulled the Playhouse out of storage and brought it home.  Memorial Day is next weekend and we are trailering-up with oldest son and family and some friends and heading to the east side of the mountains for Mule Days, leaving Friday morning and coming back Monday!  WHAAAHOOO four days!!  I am so ready to go again.  Which means this week will be a busy one with loading the Playhouse, buying more food that we could possibly eat and getting the truck washed so we can once again see out of the windows!
