A Sunflower
Well, here we are smack in the middle of the week and the seasons are changing. Sunflowers are just one of those flowers that scream fall to me, and seem to be one of my many weaknesses when it comes to flowers.
This beautiful stamped image comes from CC Designs, I snatched it up as soon as I saw it a couple years ago. It is a delight to color too. This time I used Spectrum Noir alcohol markers, a new little giftie to myself. After getting the image colored I did the blue background out so far. These markers blend beautifully...........but I took the blender marker around the edges and made more of a water stained edge. The blender marker really DOES NOT BLEND, but works more like an eraser (?) Who knew? Or is it just that I'm so NEW to alcohol markers? I did know this before making the card, but I loved the effect it gave me around this image.
I didn't add a sentiment, I'll leave it blank until I decide what I will need it for. I like having cards on hand that I can complete (quickly) when needed. I usually do add general sentiments to the fronts, but leave the insides blank...........then wish it said something different.....LOL!!!
Do you complete your cards or leave certain things for personal touches?
The inspiration for this card started with Darla's blog where she has a beautiful photo of sunflowers at a farmer's market.
Inspired by All the Little Things has a photo inspiration challenge this week too. Sadly I cannot get the linky tool to work and have ended up going in circles, but that should not detour you from visiting and seeing all the beautiful DT work.
