A Sunny Hello

Image
I found this digi image and fell in love with her and with a couple of challenges wanting summer I finally decided to print her out and color her with bright beach colors. ( I'm feeling "self portrait"  here LOL )  The layout is also for a challenge, I'll list these at the end. I also had the flip flops to print out and color.  I used everything from my stash :o .  The background paper is from Scrap in a Snap, from years ago when I was a consultant. (yes I keep stash for eons ) The stripes and boarder were punched, but the stripes looked somewhat plain so I added a touch of ribbon.  Ok for the challenges here they are: Layour: http://ispysketches.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2012-06-10T17:18:00-04:00&max-results=3 Summer: http://raisethebarchallenge.blogspot.com/ Beach: http://pausedreamenjoychallenges.blogspot.com/ I found these blogs and challenges on the Daily Dare 4 You blog and you can find the daily lists here: http://dailydare4u.blo

CR84FN Color Challenge

Image
Over at   http://cr84fncolorchallenge.blogspot.com/  the color challenge is lavender, celery and gray.  So with these three colors I made these two cards.  The first card I used a very light gray background paper and darkened he edges with a lavender, which just turned the paper a darker gray.  I also stamped the image on gray paper, but cut the head of the flower off and used a stamped image on white to take it's place.  This is a Magenta image. This second card started out as white gloss cs, then I rubbed the lavender and celery inks onto it.  Adding the Inkadinkado bubbles, also in lavender and celery.  A metallic lavender ribbon went across the bottom portion of the card.  The sentiment was stampeded onto gray paper and a lavender rhinestone finished it off. For being three hard colors to work with I managed to get two cards made!!! LOL Thanks for taking a look and don't forget to go see what other have made for this challenge, then ask yourself: ARE YOU U

....and around here that means keeping the fluids coming!  Looks like my little HM friends are ahead of me with their lemon aid.  This card is for the House Mouse and Friends challenge Here Comes Summer.  Green and brown were not the colors I had planned for this stamp.........funny how that works! Anyway, get out your mouse stamps and go join the challenge here: http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/

When you work at a call center and calls slow down we find ourselves doodling, reading and usually eating!!! LOL What else is one to do when you are still tied to your computer with a head set on waiting for a call to come through? One of our young co-workers has been making these drawings, usually animal behinds, flowers and abstracts.  She handed me this one and I said I'd make a card for her out of it, so this is it!!  Some complimentary background papers and a cut sentiment were added.  I did mount the drawing onto black cs to give it some stability. Maybe we should partner up and go into business!! LOL

Megan turned 2

Image
So our little Megan tuned two the end of April and this is the card I made for her.  My how fast they do grow up!  Using the Cricut I made the letter, the butterfly and the number, I punched the edge of the card and also the paper ribbon.  I stamped Happy Birthday on the paper ribbon and found some real ribbon the same shades I was using and trimmed out the card with it.  This layout  was for a challenge and so were the colors, I just never got it posted until now........BAD Grandma!!!!!  LOL

Center Pieces

Image
For a friends BBQ and fundraiser I made these center pieces, nine in all.  I think I jumped off the deep end with out a net, but I did get them finished in time and managed to get 4 wine baskets ready for the auction part of the fundraiser.  The following pictures are some close-ups.  I found the green transparent containers and the foam blocks at the dollar store.  I just used the tissue paper like I would in a gift bag and pushed the foam blocks into the containers.  I used bamboo skewers for the pinwheels and floral wire for the flowers.  The Jack-In-the-Box bodies are made with a wired mesh ribbon with a heavy wire running through the body and into the heads.  I wound the pipe cleaners around a pencil and glued a pom pom to the top of them.  Also use the pom poms for the center of the flowers.  I did buy some butterflies (at the dollar store 3 for a $100) used them on the back of the pin wheels where the stick was glued.  All in all I really like the way they turned out and with

.........since I last posted, but I'm still here and I have been creative in my blog absence.  I have even gotten things scanned to the PC, but just haven't sat down and got them to my blog, now I am sooooo far behind this is almost intimidating!!!!! So, I'm going to start off with this Little pink and black card I made for a co-worker.  What is VTO you ask? Well, it stands for voluntary time off.  It is something we can sign up for a work and if the calls slow down they will let us leave early....( yes, we do like our VTO )  Renda is always asking where her VTO is, meaning she hasn't gotten the call to set her free. I'm just in sales and we usually get VTO first, and poor Renda is in customer service, which rarely gets VTO.  So much for the sentiment!!!!  This image is a very old stamp, but I just love the pout look to it.  It was a fun card to make, and Renda had just gotten the news that her DH has cancer, so it did cheer her up somewhat.  Thanks for taking a
