LasT T sTands for Tuesday for 2013

Image
The last time to link up with Elizabeth and Bluebeard for this year for a good cup of Tea, coffee, juice, adult beverages and for us a cold soda.  I got to have both GD's today (Monday here), Dad came by and took them to lunch (as grandma stepped on the scale this morning and stayed home! LOL) So they brought their sodas back with them, and then it was "craft time".  They made birthday cards for Papa's birthday in 3 days.  Megan made   decorated a pencil holder and Hannah decorated a box for his wallet, keys and change.  Their gifts were covered with silver duck tape and stickers.....LOL Megan coloring her card for Papa Here she is showing off her work.  Notice Dyna waiting at the patio door to come back inside? Hannah showing off her box. I always love having the girls come to visit, we keep each other busy doing things and playing games.  So it was a GOOD day! So what are you doing today? Plans for the new years eve? Inky Hugs Krisha

BFF card

Image
Just a very quick post to make the deadline for my DT project. The Cheerful Stamp Pad is in the second week of the "Anything Goes" challenge.  This Bugaboo (our sponsor) image reminds me of one of my BFFs.  Now that I have it all scanned in, and I am in a dead heat to get this finished before the grandkids get here, I see that it is crooked.  Oh well, this BFF is way shorter than I am and would need to be standing uphill to be the same height. LOL Hope you have some time to join the challenge. Mroe about our holidays to come in a later post. Inky Hugs Krisha

Vintage Christmas Tag Book

Image
Thanks for stopping by today.  I know everybody is busy getting those last minute preparations finished, last gifts wrapped, and finishing up their "to-do" lists.  So I'll make this a very quick post. Unruly Paper Arts RAQ 2 challenge is a Tag Book.  Tags are everywhere this season and I have really enjoyed making this year. Here are the pages separated so that you can see them.  All the stamped image are from Recollections. I still have a few "to do' things on my list, so I must scoot and get busy. Merry Christmas!

Introducing Barkley

Image
Is this little fella not the cutest puppy you have ever seen??  Looks like he might be related to you know who? There is a strong resemblance, and me thinks they are related. Barkley is a new Christmas set that I received as a design team member from Rogue Redhead Designs.  He is a  NON-Rogue Redhead Design set and you can read all about the newbies HERE and purchase them from HERE Barkley is colored with pencil and OMS, he is very easy and quick to color.  I mounted him on dark green and then on a tilted red card stock.  The card base was dry embossed and a red, green and white ribbon was added at the bottom.  I just love the smallish, clear font of the sentiment.  This set also comes with a "from me to you" and a "let it snow" sentiment.  There is also a second Barkley set that I know I am going to have to have now that I have made my first Barkley card. He was so much fun to make I made a tag with him too: What fun and I also found a ribbon with pupp

WOYWW 237 the Push is over

Image
Well, I'm back after skipping WOYWW last week.  What is this?  Well, click on the link and read all about how to play along in this journey of desk hopping hosted by Julia Queen of WOYWW Here is Betsy, rather quiet after the monster push this morning to get my Christmas cards finished and in the mail.  All that is left is a pile of embellishments, and trims for tags.  On top of the pile are some tags to be made into a tag book and entered into the Unruly Paper Arts challenge, still to be finished. A bunch of Christmas sentiments that need to be put away. The other pile is a pile of tags that I covered with a card, cause it is a DT piece that will pop up after this post.  There is a stamp on a block that needs to be put away, a rosette from the floor, I've picked it up at least a dozen times this week. All the rest is just stuff that is always there. The one Christmas card left, on the pile, is for some friends that are coming for dinner this Saturday night.  Small dinner

T Stands for Tuesday: The Kid and the Cookies

Image
Tuesday morning here, and once again it's time to link up with Elizabeth and Bluebeard This week's pics are of last Friday when my granddaughter, Megan spent the day with me.  Our Styrofoam cups are holding plain old water, which was a good idea with all the sugar going on.  I had baked the cookies the night before so she could decorate.  She LOVES sprinkles, and frosting in a tube. Her idea of adding sprinkles is by the hand full In front of the tree acting like her daddy   acting like her Uncle Tony   dressed for a walk acting like her grandma........LOL   her shadow angel   stopped for a photo opt. in my friends flower bed.   On to making snowflakes, once painted they need some snow attached.  She is sprinkling Kosher salt and glitter on them.  she never gets tired of sprinkling our end results.   So that's my Tuesday post, the snow flakes are all hanging in the open areas of the living room and dinning

Christmas Candle

Image
We are starting the second week of "Signs of Christmas" challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad , and the sponsor is Vintage Inage Craft.  VIC has some wonderful vintage images "free" on Face Book. This week I chose these singing angels digital image.  I used Lumiere Pearlescent white and Sunset Gold paint to accent the image.  Then attaching it to a flames candle, then adding two pieces of trim, one to the top and one to the bottom.  Wa-la! a very pretty candle, that was quick and easy. I did attach the image and trims temporally, so that it could be change out for different holidays and celebrations.  I wonder why it took me so long to figure this out, making one candle a multi purpose candle???  LOL With free images and Christmas nearly upon us there is still time to join the "Signs of Christmas" challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad  so please take a moment and join us. A Pairisan Birthday Party

Image
So what is a Pairisan Birthday Party you ask?  I had to look it up on line when I received the birthday party invitation.  It is simply a Paris themed party, and it can be for many different types of parties and for all ages.  Who knew?   Well, the party is a surprise for one of my dearest friends, and it's this Saturday afternoon. (No she doesn't blog.....so I'm safe. LOL) Sticking with the theme I decorated a plain white bag with stamped images of the Eiffel Tower, some black lace and of course to sparkly trim around the top.  I also took 5 stamps from the same Recollections set, and stamped 3 sheets of tissue paper.  Here is a closer look at the tag, again with the same set of stamps and staying in theme.  And of course there has to be a card. And lastly a flameless candle decorated by yours truly for one of the gifts. I am entering all of the above in the Unruly Paper Arts RAQ 2 "The Complete Package challenge. I hope you will pop by their blog

Snow Tag and Old snow pictures

Image
Finished tag Trimmed and colored tree with designer paper Cut tag with gesso and dry embossed snowflakes close-up of the snow at the bottom   Again the finished tag   Some OLD (as in 1999) pictures that prove that it DOES snow here in SOCAL.  This happens about every 10 - 15 years.  It has been this cold this month, but no moisture to provide the snow, but we are due for it to happen again. This storm caused a massive power outage and closed the schools for three days.  If you live east and north of here you are probably laughing and thinking that this is just an other day.  BUT you must remember southern Californian's do not know how to drive in "weather"  LOL Thanks for stopping by and if you have made it this far please leave me a comment so I know you were here.
