January Photo Challenge 1/16 & 1/17

Image
Well, I got the photo taken for yesterday's "On the screen" but just didn't follow through and get it posted. Ended up helping DH with the lights on the big truck.......well, helping might be an exaggeration....but I did have to stand there and tell him when the light came on.....LOL  His "Can you help me a minute" translates into ALL DAY!!   The prompt for today is "Unusual".  Last summer we had to remove an old tree (it was sick).  I was walking around the yard and discovered ........................ mushrooms!  OH NO! A fungi in my yard!    This has never happened before, but the rains must have kept that spot damp enough to grow these.     They seem to growing one on top of an other.    A little research proves me right........that spot has stayed damp, and it is over the old dead roots of the tree.... January Photo challenge 1/15

Image
I'm picking up today, after a week of not getting anything posted for this challenge.   Today's photo prompt is "out and about".  I took this yesterday, when I WAS out and about.  I stopped at a park not far from where our oldest DS lives.  I was a great day for photography, I only wished I had had more time to mess about with my camera. Instead I made it to my Dr. appointment and to the grocery store.......Not really a good trade off is it??  I would rather just taken off and took pictures....................but such is life....eh??   Inky Hugs Krisha

Photo challenge 1/7/16.......Upside Down

Image
I received this little flower pot, with flowers, when our youngest son was born.  That was many, many moons ago.  It has sat on "Betsy" for ions with my glue bottles upside down in it.  I just hate to have to shake the glue to the top, so I started storing them like this.   My ink pads have always been stored upside down.....to keep the ink at the top....*grin*.   So, this is my Upside Down photo for Clare's photo challenge  .........pretty cool prompt huh?   Inky Hugs Krisha

Clare's Photo challenge #5

Image
The photo challenge, by Planet Clare, is "In Your Bag"   This is a fabric bag I use for shopping, and as I was starting to empty it, I grabbed my camera and waaalaaa! This fabric bag is perfect to haul bottles of flavored water I use to mix with my protein drink..........I also just like to drink it!!  The flavor is Mandarin Orange.   Do you plastic, paper or fabric bags?   Inky Hugs Krisha

Photo challenge #4 "NEW"

Image
Todays word, for Clare's photo challenge is NEW .  Everybody should be able to concur this since we just had Christmas........but these were not Christmas gifts...*grin*   The large multi colored binder and dry erase pens are for something I'm making for GD Hannah upon her request before Christmas.  The smaller black one is a new one for storage of my stamps......notice the new stamps in the upper left corner......oh ya it will house those stamps.   Hannah had asked me to make her a cursive practice binder.  These are the sheets that are now in the binder. I printed them off an educational web site and then put them in plastic page protectors, then sealed them with DH's soldering tool.  Now she can use the dry erase pens to practice and then wipe them clean.     I had made one for her little sister, Megan ( who is in kindergarten), to practice her letters and numbers when I was picking them up from school earl...

A New Travel Journal & Photo challenge

Image
Well, January has had a good start, and we have arrived on the 3rd day already.....hmmmmm I've already started to hear that ole familiar woooooshing sound! LOL!!   I was playing around with making a new travel journal......after watching numerous You Tube videos.  This is the end result,  a tri fold covered, half fold sheets of cardstock, 4 signatures of 3 sheets, folded in half....making 24 pages........got that???   I used a piece of stiff felt for the cover, then a wide piece of sunflower fabric (left over from my fall table cloth) and a pocket I cut off an old pair of jeans....they no longer fit anyway....*grin*   The ribbon actually runs through the shank button I sewed on, so that I wouldn't loose the ribbon.  The charms were hot glued on.   This is the back cover, I did take a moment and stitched the sunflower fabric on at the bottom, so it left me with some extra pockets......for extra stash.  Beats carrying ...
