Happy Mail

Image
Hello everyone and Happy Sunday, the last day of June........where did this month go??                              Look what I finally broke down and ordered...YEAH!! The dies arrived Thursday and the Jofy stamps came Friday, and as you can see I have tried the die( proof is in the bottom of my up side down ink pad), but the stamps are still unopened.  I am really having trouble walking past them as I am getting the "Playhouse" loaded for the beach.  BUT with the temps climbing to 108' F ,  I am stopping for today (it's already 90"F and only 9:15 a.m.), so just maybe I can squeeze in a little craft time. Couldn't resist showing off my baby and his babies, and it is HAPPY mail too, only it came by text.  The little guy on the left is our Taylor 3 months old now!!  This was taken when they went to Daddy's office for a quick visit. OK, DH just walked out the door to go to the store.......time to break open those stamps..

Let's Stay Friends

Ok, so the big fear is Google reader shutting down in a few days, and what will we do?  Seems everybody has kind of scattered to different places.  I finally chose two to use to keep in touch with the blogs I follow.  My favorite is Bloglovin' and this is the one and only one I will use daily.  It was so easy to set up and I like the way it feeds the posts. (a lot like Google reader) click on this button on my side bar to get there I had also started Network Blogs.  This one does use Facebook to log in with.  I will use this only on occasion, if at all.  I have had a Facebook account for years, but in the last year I have had nothing but problems with my e-mail being compromised (BIG pain in the rear!!) if I don't sign out each time.  It happened this week.....AGAIN! Yes, I know it is my fault for not signing out, but I get to reading blogs and jumping back and forth and forget. I have to keep changing passwords and this does not sit right with me anymore. I am not goi

Strolling Along the Beach

Image
In anticipation of our next trip to the BEACH! ( only 4 more days, and a few hours away ) I pulled out one of the Rogue Redhead Designs  stamps from the Beach Babes: RRD005  plate to make this card. Isn't she a cutie?  I colored her with Prisma colored pencils and markers.  She is mounted on a piece of Graphic 45 paper then on to a dotted paper from my stash.  Some lace, trim and lavender buttons to finish it off.  The sentiment is also from the same plate of stamps.( I do hope you all had a chance to take advantage of the sale RRD had this month ) Inky Hugs Krisha http://krishaskeepsakes.blogspot.com/

Look What I found!! and a peek!

Image
OMGosh! The things you find when you start doing a "DEEP" clean.  I thought I had lost this tag I made while in San Diego in March.  FOUND IT, under a pile of things that needed to be put away....LOL  I used a stamp from the Rogue Redhead Designs Beach Babes (RRD005)   for this tag and NOW seems to be a good time to post it since it is red, white and blue, and since the 4th of July is next week AND I'll be at the beach....( grinning from ear to ear!) Here is a tag and an embellishment I made a couple YEARS ago ( yep years ) for a scrapbook page.  They just involve navy c.s. and vellum.  But HEY, I FOUND them.....LOL A sneak peek of what's been going on Ok, I have to confess, Betsy still looks the same as yesterday for WOYWW. I had to blog snoop ( as I am a very nosey blogger ) at as many desks as possible before heading to the Dr. for a back adjustment. Then there were a few errands that needed to be done, and well, you know how it all goes

WOYWW 212 Betsy Bares ALL

Image
Welcome back to an other WOYWW!! Click HERE to find out what this is all about, if this is your first time seeing the WOYWW.  A week since my last post, a crazy week of doing different things that kept me away from my blog.  To my followers I do apologize, especially to my new follower Anna ….Hi Anna! So here is Betsy this week, a lot of “stuff” that needs to be dealt with, and put away.  Yes, Betsy looks a little different, more about that later.  Just what are you looking at? Just peeking on the left side in my I-POD docking station (have to have my music to work by), and behind that is a 3 drawer storage unit. On the back wall is a small 3 drawer unit with a drawer on top that holds my gel pens, then my mounting blocks then a marker holder (I made yesterday) and then of course my ink pads. Down in front is a Gelli  Plate (I made that yesterday too) A stack of digis and offerings that need a home.  The whit basket on the right came from next to my paper cutter and holds this, t

From The Past: DT Card

Image
It's Monday and time for a NEW CHALLENGE or at The Cheerful Stamp Pad .  The challenge for the next two weeks is "From The Past".......Cool, huh? The sponsor for these two weeks is Vintage Image Craft .  This link will take you to a Facebook page, you don't need to sign in, ( for those who do or don't do FB ) at the bottom click on the photos, and they will pop up, then save them to your files......easy peasy!! This adorable image of Betsy Ross looked like she was dreaming about her flag. I trimmed her out and layered her onto a large patriotic stamp from Posh Impressions, stamped with StazOn Timber Brown for a more antique and dreamy impression. Then layered onto navy and red cs. Adding a paper stripe of red and blue to the bottom. Some lace and star buttons finished off the card. How bout that a Betsy card made on a desk named Betsy, how appropriate is that? LOL Come join the fun with this challenge, you DO NOT have to use Vintage Image Craft images, s

WOYWW 211

Image
Wahoo! it's time for WOYWW again!  Here is Betsy this week, not much going on I had unloaded everything from this weekend and piled her high.I had to put things away, and at the bottom was my PC, so thought I'd try to fit it on Betsy somehow.  I even turned it on and what do ya know Queen Julia had already posted WOYWW, so I grabbed my camera and took the picture. So here she is and what is on Betsy?  Small stack of ATCs, top one is almost finished, my PC, Light working tools, vase with glue bottles, water pot light, my cold drink, box with cell and house phones and scissors.  Through the middle is my note book for my list of things I need to do, a large tag I am getting ready to work on for a DT post Monday and that is about all I have shown you this week.  Yes all looks so nice and tidy and in order, but remember this is a tight shot.  Maybe next week I'll turn around and take the picture of the wall to my left and just what is hidden over head......LOL  The PC isn'

Floral Scraplings

Image
We are home from our Father's Day camping trip, I'll save the deets of THAT for later (come back for WOYWW), before I left I had been playing around with some scraplings, they are 11/2 inches X  4 1/4 inches folded.  Like an ATC they are little works of art and a whole lot of fun to make, and there is a challenge over at Rogue Redhead Designs  to use scraplings, Moos and slender benders, so come join the fun. Both images are form Stampendous. Love Daisies, and this is a rather large stamp (and part of a set), but I wanted to play with it anyway.  I used black Stazon ink and a blue Prisma pencil for the background and OMS to blend it.  The centers and stems are marker and the blue shadow in the white is an indigo blue pencil. The Agathapantha is more of a shadow style stamp, and only part of the set. I stamped the image with black Stazon, then using Gelatos created the background.  Since my towers of glitter were sitting there I added glitter to the flower and the shadow

Birthday Tag

Image
Good morning Bloggers, it's Monday and the second week of The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge  "You're Sweet, so there is still time to join the fun!! Using a yummy cup cake image from Far Far Hill, our sponsor for this challenge,  I made a large birthday tag. Background was created with pink Gelatos and Stampers Anonymous images stamped with brown ink. Edges were aged with TH Vintage Photo and Wild Honey. Ribbons, from my stash were added as a finishing touch.

Heading for the HIlls........

Image
Lyn Her blog But first I want to show off an other ATC that arrived yesterday, Happy Mail is sooooo much fun!!  This one came Lyn (Spyrder)  with a darling little twinchie note. So quick and simple ( and it isn't even WOYWW ) but must dash and finish loading the "Playhouse" as we're off to the mountains to join some friends for the Father's Day weekend.  I'm only taking art journals,  a few tools and maybe some images to color, it's only a weekend trip for goodness sake!! LOL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!! Inky Hugs Krisha

Going Rogue with Ink and Water

Image
Oh, I just love the versatility of the Nature Notes:RRD011 plate of stamps. For this card I went back to an old technique. Using a water base marker to color the stamp, then a light spritz of water, then stamp the image, you create more of a water color image. I repeated the same technique for the background using Behind the Scenes RRD012 Bubble wrap stamp and a denim blue ink. The sentiment is from the Nature Notes plate also. The main image is mounted on navy blue cs and everything is mounted onto the same navy blue card base. Rogue Redhead Designs is having a fantastic sale this month, so don't miss the chance to get these wonderful images at a great price. Inky Hugs Krisha

Catch the Bug Challenge 138

Image
Hello and thanks for stopping by.  This is a card for the Catch the Bug Challenge 138  , a sketch challenge.  I used a Bugaboo digital image, ( love these shoes, well I am a shoe Ho, or so I've been told...LOL ) that is so versatile, and easy to color.  Just using a black Sharpie and a metallic gold Gel Pen to color the image, then mounted onto black cs.  I did add the gold background paper ( this stripe is not on the sketch but needed the added color ), it is just tissue paper wrinkled and the glued down.  A die cut for the sentiment from Fischer's and a tape of black rhinestones to finish it. Really an easy to do card. Inky Hugs Krisha

WOYWW 110 and the ATC Reveal

Image
Hello again and welcome back to an other week of WOYWW.  Not much new on Betsy this week, she had gotten a little piled up, but I did a quick clean up this morning so I could just sit and do some coloring.  Been working on some snippets, there in the background, and a couple ATC that were made with digi images from Bugaboo. Keeping it real short this week (as Julia likes it) but mainly because of the ATC REVEAL below. Didn't get here from WOYWW?? DVD/CD Case for Father's Day

Image
Happy Monday and welcome to Tracey, a new follower, and apologies to those that I have not individually named. I've been making DVDs, with music, of all the pics of the Grandees, so much quicker than scrap booking them, AND I am SO FAR BEHIND in scrapbooks, they will get these THIS YEAR! LOL For today's post I am showing you one of the DVD cases I made for my boys for Father's Day.  I did them both the same, only slightly changing some of the shadow colors.  I Deco Podged a tissue paper from 7 Gypsies onto the case, front and back, then aged it with TH distressed inks.  The clock die is also TH, stamped with a crackle stamp and also aged with the same distressed inks.  Sentiment is  TH again.  Since the case is hard I used a brown pearl in place of a brad. The weekend was so hot here it was suffocating to go out side, with the temp topping out at 111 F on Saturday.  Sunday it dropped to 105 F, now today it is only going to get to about 88 F, almost need a jacket....

You're Sweet

Image
Time for a new challenge from The Cheerful Stamp Pad !  This challenge is "You're Sweet"  Our sponsor is  Far Far Hill, but I chose the House Mouse stamp for this week.  It is all stamped directly to the card, then colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, and markers. Yep! ONE LAYER!! Haven't done this in years!!! This challenge will run for two weeks, so dig out those " sweet " stamps and join the fun. Inky Hugs Krisha

Shabby Chic Book Cover

Image
Since I have joined the challenge over at 1 CAD I decided to put them all in book form.  So I need a cover and SINCE  the Unruly Paper Arts Challenge: Pink and Brown Shabby Chic   is this month I have created this cover for my book.  A wash of pink and white acrylic paint over a brown crackle finish gave me the base background.  Then using Rogue Redhead Design Stamps  ( WHO IS HAVING A GREAT SALE RIGHT NOW ) and brown ink I added the second layer, Then came the images from Recollections and Stampers Anonymous in StazOn Timber Brown.  I added some white TH tattered flowers with pink rhinestone flowers in the centers,  and adding a few to the dress form from Recollections.  A pieces of white lace at the bottom with pink rhinestones for centers. clear rhinestones on the Stampers Anonymous image. The last piece was a small chip board flourish that received a coat of paint, Timber Brown ink and hand written title.  At the end of July, when the challenge is over I will bind everything tog

Day 4 wallpaper           Day 5 recycle Happy Friday Bloggers, and welcome  Lucy, a new follower. Yes this blog has been quiet since Wednesday, we were having "intranet interrupt-us" ( no intranet for 2 days ) Cell phones are great and we could get to e-mails, an intranet....but no posting to the blog.  So that smart phone isn't so smart after all!! LOL So here are four days of   1 CAD .  I have been thinking ( for 2 quiet days ) that I am not going to post these everyday but haven't really figured out which day I will post all of them.  Day 6 crwon                      Day 7 paisley Friday is the practical day, since that is the last day, but every even Friday is a  RRD  DT post. Mondays are for CSP DT post, and Wednesdays are OUT thats saved for WOYWW  ( even re-scheduled my DR. on that day ) So what to do?? It is only for two months, so I am thinking maybe Tuesdays to recap the week before.  What do you think? So this is the last four days: Day

WOYWW 209 You Can See Betsy

Image
Happy WOYWW!!! Well, the anniversary party is over, and was it a good one, now just waiting for the presents (ATCs) to arrive!  What is this all about you ask?  Well hop over to Julia's  and find out, she LOVES the visits and is really in a bragging mood...LOL   I have received 2 ATCs, but I'm going to wait till they all get here ( about 5 more to come ) so I can have Grand bragging rights when I post all of them.  Hopefully next week.             So this week finds Betsy a little more organized, we spent the afternoon going through things and asking "Does this need to be on the desk top and or in reach?"  Well, it was a long process and Betsy kept saying "Oh, don't get rid of that we might need it."  My repeated response: " I has been here for ever and I still haven't used it, can keep EVERYTHING, it's TRASH!.....etc! LOL  She finally saw things my way, I even labeled drawers so I know where I put the things I really want and need

The Crown Fit!!!!

Image
I did this journal page a couple weeks back and never did get it posted for the challenge....LIFE!!  I did a photo transfer then went to town adding different things.  The sentiment was PC generated, and the crown is off some Maddi Grass beads.  I see I used stencils, Rogue Redhaed Designs  In the Background stamps, other odd bits and stamped images.  See what happens when you get to be a mature age ( that means OLD ) and you don't post when you should. LOL  So on with the post!  The picture below is  NOT WOYWW ( remember this is only Monday ) but the haul of stash from today's visit to Michael's Craft Store.  Now I don't really care for Michael's, sort of out of date, but I usually pick up something with my 40% off coupon.  Was I surprised today!  They are bringing in more TH...LOVE IT! and ALL their stamps were 40% off, plus some other very good sales.  It all started with the sale bins out in front of the door.  As hot as it was today THAT is where I started

Image
Ink verses thread?  Ink wins here with a little faux stitching for ICAD challenge  faux stitching for day 3.  Okay, so you haven't started yet, there is no NEED to catchup, just start with today!! See ya there! I used and Inkadinkado stamp and some patterned papers to make the elephant ( ain't he cute?) Some shading with a Prosma pencil and OLM and some stitching around the edges.  The elephant already had the faux stitching and that is why he was chosen for today's ICAD! Inky Hugs Krisha PS: I love to come around and visit, but will not leave comments is word verifications is turned on.  I try to make it too many blogs to mess with that nonsense.

A Gingerloft wall hanging

Image
Hey Blogger friends there is still time to join The  Cheerful Stamp Pad  challenge " My Kinda Gal " Here is my DT sample: Such a sweet image from Gingerloft. She was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then mounted onto a chip board. Mulberry flowers were cut with TH Tattered Flowers die and added to the boarder. A Cri-cut butterfly in the top left corner and then rhinestones for the centers of the flowers. I even found rhinestone flowers in my stash, and a butterfly!! Very sparkly indeed, but it was made for a special friend who loves sparkly GREAT challenge!! Inky Hugs Krisha
