Blogger?????ERRRRR!!!! PHOOEY!!!!

Copied this from my friend Neet's blog - why can they not leave us alone?  Streamline Phooey!!!

Posted: 21 Dec 2015 03:02 AM PST
In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

T is for Happy New Year

The last Tuesday, of this year, to meet up with the T-Gang and Elizabeth , and of course I am running late!! So this is going to be a quick post..........that's my intention anyway....*grin*  I'm starting with a picture of the beautiful turkey my DH cooked for Christmas dinner.  He cooked it outside in one of the ceramic cookers.......I wish you could smell it.....OMGoodness is was delicious!!
Our dinner table, with labels, since I write about these families quite often.  I had the pleasure of having 4 generations of our DIL's family here for dinner........we have known these people for over 35 years......yep, Brian and Vanesss grew up together.
The "little" sister's table

Most of you, that come for T-Day know these two
Before Christmas, I received a package from Lisca, the Scrapping Cavewoman.  She had made me this fantastic book about her and her life in Spain, with pictures and all hand written.  I have to admit that I have read this book 4 or 5 times already....LOL  The ATC, with the 3-D bird has a Bible verse on the back and the little shinny red book has a saying in it.  THANK YOU truly was my best Christmas present!!

The same week I received a PC from our Jinxxxygirl.....Deb She always makes the best PC!!  Thanks so much Deb!

This photo is just to prove that I have been doing a few crafty things.  In fact I just took this one this morning.  I've been looking at book binding on Pineterst and You Tube (on my cell phone).  It has been cold here, and lately we have been able to burn wood in the stove.........but the heat doesn't get down the hall and around the corner and into this room.....*grin* Yesterday wood burning was prohibited, and the heater was turned back on, and I came back here and started making a journal (way into the night and that's why I'm late today....LOL) I did take one of my art journals to the sofa and finished a page I started over a month ago.......I'll try to post it later.  I also found and adjusted a planner page of sorts.  This one I might be able to keep with.....time will tell!
So that's a wrap for this LAST T-day of this year.  We don't have any fancy plans for New Years Eve, I'll most likely watch it all on TV, and New Years Day is just a normal day around here for us.
How do you celebrate the new year??
However your celebrate, or not, I hope you have a safe turning of the calendar and a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!

T stands for "Oh ya, it's *that* time of year!!

I was busy this evening (Monday) getting out some of my Christmas china and decided to stop and have a sweet coffee and an energy bite. Then I remembered it's time to link up with Elizabeth and the T-Gang for one last get together before Christmas.

My sweet coffee has sugar free chocolate and caramel syrup and a lot of unsweetened heavy whipping cream .........tastes like a virgin Bailey's Irish Cream and coffee.  I have since drank that, and a second one .....with the Irish cream.......needed more punch!!!  LOL!  For the past month I've been trying to stay away from white flour and white sugar ( Bailey's doesn't count at Christmas time...LOL), and I came across this recipe for these energy bites on Pinterest.........I LOVE THEM!!
It feels good to have both feet among the living again, although I still have a cough, but ever so much better now.  I went to the Dr. twice and he finally told me I now have asthma, and has me on two inhailers. I can no longer take penicillin since I broke out in hives the last time I took it.  So with the wheeezzzzing, bronchitis and a sinus infection ( guess being on the desert, with the wind blowing wasn't such a good idea at Thanksgiving), the coughing was horrendous, and not everything I ate would stay down. So these little energy bites really came in handy. not tooo much and not tooo heavy.  Good news is my stomach has shrunk and now I eat about half the amount I used too and I have lost 10 pounds!  I know NOT the best way to lose weight, at least not my favorite!! Things still don't sound good and often times don't taste good, but I do make myself eat two to three times a day and a small snack or two.
Now, food may not always sound good.....but wine?!!? oh yea, I can taste *THAT*.  Since DH and I ARE RKO Transport Company, we always have a "company dinner" out for the holidays.  This year we invited my friend Cathy and her husband Jim out for dinner at a local steak house.

There is always water on our table too.
After dinner, the four of us decided to go out to CALM (California Animal Living Museum) and see the lights.  This is their BIG fund raiser each year and all the lights and decorations are donated.  It was cold last Friday night, so the walk through the museum was great after a big meal.  They had added more lights and displays this year and it was well worth the trip and the cold walk around.

After celebrating on Friday night, Saturday night we get a call from the City of Shafter....

T, wine, and paint

Holiday greetings blog friends!  Almost the middle of December already and I hope all your holiday preparations are falling into place. Now, onto what you've come around for......the weekly drink to be shared with the T-gang.
Last Tuesday evening was the Bakersfield Bucklist  Bunnies first fundraiser.  The event was held at a Restaurant and wine bar.  The dinner was a 5 course meal with a wine paring with each course. There was also a silent auction of some gorgeous gift baskets, and even a side chair. Also a nice fashion show put on by one of our sponsors.
My really good friend Cathy went with me
The food was very rich.....but tasty....this is what was left of my fillet. We also had shrimp, lobster bisque (it was more like a stew....) and there was one more entrĂ©e and a dessert, but I can't remember what they were.  I don't think I finished one course..........and still left FULL!!
Neither Cathy, or I, were impressed with the I drank  a lot of water, plus I still wasn't feeling very well. But this even was planned and paid for long before I got sick.....LOL
The blue raffle tickets were for............
The Grand Prize
All I can say is: Sure glad I went cause it became a "winner, winner...chicken dinner"  YEP! I won the grand prize!
Sunday night was an other event I paid for before getting sick, so I went.  It was Paint Nite.  This is how they set the rooms up for the painters......rather close....
but I still found a spot for a glass of wine.....LOL

The beginnings of my canvas......This is NOT the type of event to "learn" how to paint...exactly.

Looking down the table I was sitting at.
Now, these are supposed to be clouds.....????? yea, me too....LOL  I was following what the instructor said, instead of what I know.  So I ended up with a purple elephant across the top......can ya see it yet???
So this is what I ended up with.....a representation of what it was supposed to look like......ROTFLOL!!
Of course I had to prove that I was the one behind this flying purple elephant........LOL
Now it is time for me to get busy on some errands, still early Monday here so I'll link up with the T-gang a little later.

T Stands for My Helpers

With a woooooosh and a plop!  We have landed on Tuesday again.  I hope I find everybody well, and ready for the Ho, Ho, Ho of the holidays as I jump from blog to blog, this morning, seeing what the multitudes of the T-gang are offering up for a tasty drink.......You know not of this? Click on the blue tea pot on my side bar or HERE.
Last week I was feeling like something that had been drug down a road full of rocks.  I did go to the Medicine Man on Thursday, and he gave me some VooDOOO  pills and some super strong cough medicine  ( LOL). Said my lungs were a weeeezzzzzzing and gave me a breathing treatment too........almost like smoking a peace pipe!!!
By the weekend I was feeling better, so the GDs came to help me decorate the tree and house.....and for a sleepover.
They went right to work on the tree.  They wanted the story about each ornament.  Where I got it, or who gave it to me and how long I've had it.  Hannah got the honor of the tree topper, as Megan got to do it last year.  She had to stand on the end table, as I held onto her, to reach the top......she is so tall for a 9 year old!!
Megan had the biggest hand in decorating this antique table that greets our guests as they walk in.  The angels are an OLD Home Interior product that were my Mom's.......I just love them.
Then they too a quick break, had a candy cane and played a game of cards and drank a glass of "fuzzy" water.  Now fuzzy water is just a carbonated, flavored water from WalMart.  Hannah started calling it that when she was about two.  The bottle with the orange bands on the the flavor we drink called Mandarin Orange.  No sugar, no salt, no calories, no coloring hmmmmmm???? makes ya wonder.......but we use it as an alternative to a regular soda.
We decorated the mantel and set a few more things out, then it was time to make the Gingerbread House. I bought a KIT at the store, and you should have heard Papa give me a load of crap for not baking my own gingerbread.......LOL  Now Megan might be tall too, but still so tiny that I finally told her to get ON the bar top so she could reach.  I frosted the pieces together and then let THEM do all the rest.  The last thing they decorated was the two gingerbread men, and I let them eat them. Now I had to wipe frosting from Megan's hands, feet, and her jeans..........oh my!!
Now, Papa doesn't like being "left out" (even  though he doesn't do crafts) so he decided to make root beer floats for him and the girls. The girls had theirs as they watched "The Grinch that Stold Christmas."  Even with ALL that sugar, they finished the movie in bed and were asleep in the blink of an eye by 9 PM.
We painted three wine bottles white, then took them outside, where I sprayed them with adhesive. The girls rolled them on the ES, and then we repeated steps two and get a really good coat of ES on them..........and Megan was pretending to be a statue on a palm tree stump......*grin* Notice the sweatshirt and the flip flops......yes it's winter in southern California......LOL

Here are our wine bottles.  They made the snowflake tags, with left over snowflakes I made, for around the necks and then we added some silver sprigs to them.  They took them home, so I'll have to make a set for me......right after I buy more white paint.....LOL
Megan finally noticed the wooden letter that have been floating around the craft room of three years!  They were on sale at Michael's, and I kept waiting for them to put out a T, and a D  The first initial of ALL my GKs ( at the time) NOW I need an S too.  Since I sincerely don't think that will happen I let these two decorate theirs and take them home.
I did show Hannah how to make the 3D snowflake I found through Darla's post last week......THANK YOU DARLA!  Hannah made a large one and a medium one....which I didn't get a picture of.......then she took them home, so she can show Rachel how to make them.
Last, but not least they decorated these two little spiral trees that I sit right outside the front door.  They are pre lighted, but we always hang small bulbs on them, so they are pretty during the day too.
That pile of red bows, next to Megan's head will all go on her tree.
This will be that last year for these trees, as the lights don't all work anymore, and look a little odd when they are plugged it......but we'll see.
After all the decorating, with such good help, I ended up on the sofa all day yesterday coughing and dosing off.  The cough medicine has codeine in it and THAT makes me fall asleep. ( I just used Robitussin while the girls were here).  That must have been what my body needed cause I feel much better today. I wasn't worried about the girls catching this, because their Dad has the same thing. :((
Tonight is the Bakersfield Bucketlist Bunnies first fundraiser.  It will be five wines pared with food and a fashion show.  I'm really looking forward to it and hope I remember to take picture...LOL  I invited my dear friend Cathy to go with me, so it should be a lot of fun  I have attended three other events, alone, and have really enjoyed myself. There is a short description of this group I posted HERE.
Sunday evening I will be painting this, called Sunset Boulevard,    with a large group of people. It is the "going" thing around here these days  There are a couple of different groups.  It cost me $25.00, but they bring EVERYTHING and it will be a 16" x 20" canvas.  These events are held in establishments that serve drinks and some are in restaurants.  This painting is with Paintnite.  It is usually $45.00, but I bought mine through Groupons and got the discounted price.
In January I am painting with Brush and Blush Easel events and we will be painting this: Called Night Wine.
The B&B events are cheaper, this one is only $10.  All the paintings, in both groups are very easy, it more about getting out with friends and having a good time.  You do have to be over 21, but you do not have to drink alcohol beverages............but I WILL be drinking wine....LOL
I know this is a LONG post so if you have made it this far, please leave me a comment, now I'm off to see what is being served up by the rest of the T-Gang

Time for a Second Look

 Taking a look back

Gosh! here it is December 2nd already and time to link up with The Altered Book Lover.....Elizabeth for a second look at what ever you want to share.   I was asked (yesterday) if I'd have the GDs for holiday crafts.  With them all in school these days it is hard to tell, maybe a little closer to Christmas......when they are on Christmas break........oh, I'm supposed to call it "winter break"....well, not HERE......I still say Christmas!!
So, looking back, I found this T-Day post of Hannah and Megan and their craftiness.....
Megan was 3 and Hannah was tell me, WHERE DID THE TIME GO???

LasT T sTands for Tuesday for 2013

The last time to link up with Elizabeth and Bluebeard for this year for a good cup of Tea, coffee, juice, adult beverages and for us a cold soda.  I got to have both GD's today (Monday here), Dad came by and took them to lunch (as grandma stepped on the scale this morning and stayed home! LOL) So they brought their sodas back with them, and then it was "craft time".  They made birthday cards for Papa's birthday in 3 days.  Megan made  decorated a pencil holder and Hannah decorated a box for his wallet, keys and change.  Their gifts were covered with silver duck tape and stickers.....LOL
Megan coloring her card for Papa

Here she is showing off her work.
Notice Dyna waiting at the patio door to come back inside?

Hannah showing off her box.
I always love having the girls come to visit, we keep each other busy doing things and playing games.  So it was a GOOD day!
So what are you doing today?
Plans for the new years eve?

T-day on December 1st

Here is this mornings cup of coffee, processed through Photo Shop to change the saying.....and just in time to link up with the T-gang.

This is going to be a quick post because, as the cups says.......I have to get BUSY around here.  My last post stated that we were headed for the desert for some Thanksgiving fun.  Yes we went, but the day we left I woke up SICK!  Nasty sinus cold, that I managed to share with DH, only he came down with it on the day we came home.  We are both a lot better now, still the nagging cough and my nose refuses to stop running........I'm looking a lot like Rudolph......LOL  BUT we did have a good time with the kids and GDs, but not many pictures were taken this year.

We arrived back home Saturday night, I managed to unload the Playhouse Sunday morning, then we just laid around the rest of the day and rested ( and took more medication)  Yesterday, we were both feeling much better, and I started cleaning the Playhouse so we can get it back in storage.  Today, barring no interruptions (like yesterday) I'll get that finished and hopefully get started on decorating for Christmas...........might even work on that stack of cards that are half finished......*grin*

Hope everyone is surviving the nasty weather that has hit the eastern side of the US......and elsewhere.  It has been freezing at night here so I have been having my morning coffee and meditation looking at the frost on the rooftops..........brrrrr!

Ok, time for me to link up with Elizabeth and the T-gang .......

T Stands for Tuesday with the T-gang

Joining Altered Book Love and the T-gang this week, as many prayers are being said for France and the fight against terrorism.  This photo collage is one that I saw on Facebook and it brought tears to my eyes.
Now it is time to share my T-time drink.
I saw something on Pinterest (oh surprise there!!) and it involves Epsom Salt and I knew there was some around here.....somewhere.  I finally found it, under the bathroom sink.......way in the back. Now this box of ES has been around here for long time, and I do mean a LONG time, so long it had become a brick of salt......LOL!!!  Well, I need it to be back in granular condition, so I beat on the box, with a metal ladle, until it was in large chunks.  Then I put the large chunks into a zip lock bag and beat it some more.   Now that's more exercise than I've had in a week.....and there were still pieces  a little too large hummmmmmm.........................
Well, I dug around in one of the kitchen cabinets and finally found what I was looking OLD sifter...........I think it was my Mom's, or maybe my Grandmother's sifter.  I had already sifted some of the first banged out bag of salt when I remembered the camera.  My cup has some of the Coconut Tea you can see in the background.
Do you remember these sifters?  Most recipes, now a days, don't call for sifting your flour along with your baking soda, salt and baking we just throw it all in the bowl and mix it well.........LOL!!
As a kid, I remember how much fun it was to turn that little crank and sift the flour, with dreams of one day being a wife and mother........just like my Mom.  Of course I also wanted to be an actress, dancer, school teacher and many other things.......*grin*
So, as I was working the little crank, and watching my salt become granules again, I was flooded by such good memories.
Looking down into the sifter, you can see that all was NOT a complete success, some of those were just not going to beak up, so into the blue bowl to be used for bath time.  That ended the "battle of the salt".  It will work great for the project I have in mind....but that has been put on the shelf for after Thanksgiving.......since it is a Christmas decoration......*grin*
The Playhouse is parked out side and waiting to be loaded for our annual trip to the desert next week.  The Honey Baked ham has been ordered and it came with a large Honey Baked turkey breast...yummmm!  Our oldest son will smoke a turkey and for the 6 of us there will be enough food to feed 25....LOL  Everybody has a favorite dish for the holidays!!  What is yours?
We will be leaving "early" next Tuesday, so chances are I won't have time to really do a T-day post.  So I will wish everybody, that celebrates, a Happy Thanksgiving and to all a Happy T-day!!
