Yes, it has finally gotten here the anniversary of the world wide SNOOP!! WAAHOOO!!! This week we are celebrating the 4th anniversary of Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at
The Stamping Ground click the link and see what it is all about.

So this week Betsy is a royal dumping ground!! So here she is:  CD cases of stamps open, some foam stamps, gel pens, stack of ATCs, most of those are finished (I think) Glue bottle, stamp cleaner, scissors, tweezers, pot with glue bottles, a plastic tub with an over sized makeup brush for sweeping off Betsy, more stamps, center is my black ink pad and a paper pad I try to work on so I can tear off the pages and have a clean surface to work on.  Right now it is an inky mess
Just trying to get my ATCs finished for the swap.  I do have extras if anybody else wants to swap.  I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to do, so each one is different.

Here is a closer look at some of the ATCs, and the mess. Just contact me, (

Looking up at the top from the end of the road.
We had a GREAT Memorial Day camping trip.  Here are a few of the better pictures of 224.....LOL  It truly is beautiful, these are of the afternoon we spent on Mt. Whitney.

This was so breath taking.

Oldest son and me

We never go hungry, this was the night for ribs.  Beef and pork. YUMMMM

A French Post Card

A new challenge is up at Cheerful Stamp Pad blog it is "My Kinda Gal" and the sponsor is The Gingerloft, great digi images to play with.
For this first week I chose to do a simple French post card using the Gingerloft digi Umbrella Girl.  This image intrigued me, so simple and yet charming.  All the other images and sentiment are from Recolections.  So check out the deets over at Vickie's
and join us in the adventure.

Midge in Lace

Once again I am using the NEW This N That Stamp Plate from Rogue Redhead Designs,  and using Midge as the center image for a vintage style hanging.  She was colored with Prisma colored pencils, even the background, then trimmed with a lace and pearl trim. The chip board base was covered with un-bleach muslin and stamped with the Behind the Scenes script stamp RRD012 in aged photo ink. Lay Claim to Your Fate was stamped in the lower corner with the same distressed ink.  I placed Midge at an angle for a little more interest.  Pearl swirls and lace trim were added at the bottom, a grunge flower in the corner, and a gold trim was used for the hanger.

Happy WOYWW 207, only one more and the great ATC swap!

What ever am I babbeling about?  It is the great weakly blog hopping, getting nosey, event called What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and you can check it out here:
Julia Dunnit's blog .

So here are a couple shots of my bestest friend Betsy!!  Giving ya  a wide shot, so as not to lead anybody on that I am neat and tidy, and organized.
Here is a shot of what really is on Betsy. Paper towels, assorted stamps that need to be put away, Some ATCs hoping to get finished for the anniversary swap next week.  I am walking a fine line here, as we are going to be out of town for four (count them FOUR) days.  There are some TH distressed in pads, scissors pen, exacto knife and my cutting mat, along with the regular stuff that is there every week.

We are getting some very unusual cool weather headed our way, starting tomorrow, a 20' drop!! Bring us back into the 70s again!! WAAHOO!

That's it short and sweet the way Julia likes it.

Prayers for all those still in tornado danger,

Masculine Card: Going Wild

Took some time, this morning, from packing the Playhouse to make a card for my cousin's birthday next week.  This card was made using a Faux Linen technique on the giraffe. You can check it out here:Faux Linen. I masked the giraffe, then used a Rogue Redhead Designs Behind the Scene reverse dot stamp to make the background..  I have had this giraffe sooo long, I truly do not remember who made him (my apologies).
I am entering this in these challenges.

Try it Tuesday: On The Wild Side.

Celebratie Your Birthday Tag

" Monday, Monday, so good to me...." (I will humm this song all day)
I do hope that all our blog friends, that lived through some devastating tornadoes, over the weekend are all safe and sound.  Things are just "stuff" that can be replaced, but our friends are priceless.

Soooo, what a weekend around here.  Saturday morning I started by getting all inky with this tag.  I did a gel resist first, to make the background, then wet the tag and ran inks all down it, spraying more water as I went.  I had some tattered flowers cut out of white cs, so I put a little ink in the centers, and on the leaves.  They looked a little dry, so they got a spritz of H2O and wrinkle.  I found a chip board butterfly and used Inktense pencil and a wet brush to blend in the ink.  I added seed beedz to the center of the flowers and turquoise beedz to the edge of the butterfly.

The sentiments were chosen because it was MY birthday Saturday and I have decided to celebrate being the age I am, along with all the aches and pains that I have earned through the years ( Yes, even the black eye a couple weeks ago) Around noon we headed to the fair grounds for BBQ cook off.....MMMMM good eats for sure, came home and were lazy the rest of the afternoon.
Sunday we were busy getting the extra fuel tank into the truck, so we don't have to fuel every 100 miles while towing the trailer (Grandma's Playhouse) Then to my oldest son's to do a paint touch up on a cabinet in their trailer, and a quick dip in the pool with GDs.  On the way home we pulled the Playhouse out of storage and brought it home.  Memorial Day is next weekend and we are trailering-up with oldest son and family and some friends and heading to the east side of the mountains for Mule Days, leaving Friday morning and coming back Monday!  WHAAAHOOO four days!!  I am so ready to go again.  Which means this week will be a busy one with loading the Playhouse, buying more food that we could possibly eat and getting the truck washed so we can once again see out of the windows!

I haven't entered many challenges lately so I thought I'd enter this tag in the following challenges:

Sugar Creek Hallow: Use It Up
Ecletic Paperis: Gel Medium
Unruly Paper Arts: RAQ #2 Paper Flowers

That's it for Monday, hope everybody has a great week!!

Spring Flowers are Blooming!!

It's Spring and the flowers are blooming! It is the second week of the "It's Natural" challenge at
Cheerful Stamp Pad blog with the Stitchy Bear Outlet being the sponsor.  There is still time to join us with all your works of nature projects.

For this card I printed out the digi image and stamped over it with a script stamp form
.Rogue Redhead Designs: RRD012 Behind the Scenes, then colored them with bright colored markers.  They were fussy cut and mounted onto an embossed dot paper, then on to a red cs.  I chose a red and white dot ribbon and added it in a wavy pattern. The sentiment is from  the This N That half plate of stamps new release by Rogue Redhead Designs new release.
Just a quick and simple card in bright colors.

Floral Tag

I finished the tag that was on my desk Wednesday.  It is a new Hero Arts stamp that I have a love/hate relationship with.  Love the image, hate that it doesn't stamp well.  Has a couple of places that the image is shallow and won't print.  I even pulled it off the wood and added Easy mount too.  Oh well, it is what it is, good thing it was at 50% off!!
I am going to enter this in the Unruly Paper Arts RAQ1: 5 or more flowers
Hope you can get there and vote for me between May 26 and May 31.

Grandma's Got a Brand New Bag

Happy Friday!! Well it really isn't a brand new bag, cause I can't seem to find one I really like. (I am very picky when it comes to a new purse) So I was digging about in the hall cupboard and came across an old purse that I really did like, guess that is why I kept it. It had white paint on it here and there, and I had grown tired of it, so into the cupboard t went. I decided to it was rather boring to look at and thought about it. Went back to Betsy and loaded my arms with supplies and came back to the kitchen and began.

after stamps and rhinestones, I used StaysOn ink for this
Love the way it turned out, and proudly carried it to my GD's, Hannah, school open house last night.  But I do remember the main reason I stopped carrying it.  I holds quite a bit of unnecessary stuff, and if I have room I'll fill it up.  So the challenge is NOT to carry anything that is NOT necessary!  Can I do it?? Well that is still to be seen! LOL

The other side.
So I'm off to get ready to do a little retail therapy with my DIL.  We have a Memorial day trip all planned, only a week away.  We're going to trailer-up and head for a RV park, that has a great swimming pool, near Bishop, where Mule Days will take place.  Plans are for a lot of fishing creek side, attending the festivities and of course more food than we can possibly eat!! (Hmm bettr go up a size if I find a new swim suit)
BUT new swim suits seam to be a requirement this year......or so says my DIL.....oh I do agree, until I go to trying them on..... LOL

Hope your weekend is super crafty!!

Masculine Birthday Card and the rest of the story!

Yep! This is the card that was laying on my desk yesterday.  TH makes it so much easier to make masculine cards these days, just love it since I have 2 sons.  As you know I found some great sales last week and one of them was this die.  I cut it using a cream cs, then splattered it with distressed inks.  The center of the clock is stamped with a Hero Arts happy birthday sentiment, distressed with a little ink then the clock was put back together, using a brad for clock hands.  Celebrate was stamped onto a thin sheet of cork, then mounted on an embossed snippet from my stash.  It all sits on a very dark brown cs and then onto the card base that had been grunged up with blue and brown ink.  A few clock gears for embellishment and I was done.
It is a birthday card for my oldest son, who's birthday isn't until August. No, I am not THAT organised, let's get that one straight right now!! So why is it finished so early?  (Story below, or you can stop here and  have a great day)

Well grab a cuppa and have a seat.  While in San Diego for the birth of our grandson Taylor I had taken about 1//3 of my stamping supplies. (If your a follower you will remember that story) Well, the trip was coming to an end and I had packed up all my supplies and ready the Playhouse for the trip home on Sunday. It dawns on me that my youngest son's (Taylor's Daddy) had a birthday on Monday.  Now I'm not a BAD Mom, just an excited Grandma!!  So I ..............................................
BOUGHT him a card, in fact they were 2 for $1.00 at the dollar store, so I found a very nice one for him and for my GD who turned 3 the end of April.  Bases covered!!  Family never says much about the hand made cards anyway.......WRONG!!  Tony (my son) gets this look on his face and then starts laughing and says "A store bought card? Really?  How much did that hurt?" Okay so HE does like the hand made cards.  Megan's birthday rolls around ( I am still unpacking the Playhouse and no time for crafting, but I'm thinking I already have a great card and gift......good to go) WELLLLLL, let me tell you about that! My DIL always reads the cards to her girls while they open their gifts.  SHE throws a fit when she sees the card "What is this? You BOUGHT a card, where is the beautiful handmade card you ALWAYS make? Don't do this again, we WANT the pretty cards!"
So now you have the whole story!
Well, if you made it to here, you must be either shaking your head with disgust or laughing your butts off!  Either way I have learned MY lesson, and thanks for hanging in there for the whole story.
Off to make more BD cards, also have a GD birthday in August.....better hurry on that one!!! LOL

So it's Tuesday night here is California, but it's Wednesday for the hostess Julia Dunnit so it is time for some blog jumping.  What is this all about? Click the link and get the details, then play along with the rest of Blogland
What is WOYWW?

Here is Betsy tonight, just as I left her to go take a shower and get my jammies on.  I have been playing around off and on all day and all I accomplished is one card!! LOL So what are ya looking at?? My nasty, inky rag, a pretty container with a jar of pens and pencils, my new Stampendous stamp, stamps with sentiments, black in pad, a card for my son's birthday (in August), a tag I'm still puttering about with, A New Hero Arts stamp in the back, water pot in front of that, pot with glue bottles up side down, scissors, glasses, clip, paper towels and the standard stuff around the edges.  Behind the right light there are a couple of DT pieces I did have to push out of view, they will be coming up later.

Last Friday I did some pre-birthday shopping and brought home a haul of stash.  Michael's had their wood mounted stamps on sale for 50%, then I went to Beverly's Fabrics and they had their stencils for 30% off, Jo Ann's had dies at 40% off, so picked up the clock die you see on the card.  Then I went across the street to the mall and picked up my FREE pearl earrings, then to JCP and got a top that was on sale for $11.95, BUT I had a $10.00 off purchase so with tax and an 80 cent donation cost me $3.00!! Also went to Macy's and picked up a new bottle of perfume and lotion, but DH paid for those for Mother's Day.

Okay enough  of the bla, bla, bla and onto to blog hopping!!
Leave a comment and I will definately get back to you, if I was there first.....LOL

Spring in Paris... I wish

Here we are at the middle of May already, I can't believe how fast time seems to be moving.  This is always a busy time of year for us, but this year seems even more so. I have been getting caught up on DT work and that has been about it for my blog.  Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day.

I have been fumbling around with a few non-DT things and Mr. MOJO just wasn't having anything to do with me!  So frustrating when you have some new stamps to play with! I finally remembered how to get him to start playing again........KEEP IT SIMPLE!!   So I went back to Betsy and started with this new stamp from Stampendous, wonderful stamp.  It inked so well and the image turned out so clean and crisp.  I used a little Prisma pencil and OMS for the flowers, then did a little layering and added some black and white ribbons.  I was done in no time at all.

Yesterday my oldest GD, Hannah, was not feeling well enough to go to school, being sick to her stomach!  My poor baby girl.  Daddy dropped her off on the way to work.  After a couple of times of getting rid of her breakfast, I settled her down with some crackers and a bottle of water, all tucked in nicely on the sofa. ( Funny how "Grandma's house" has a healing effect on those little ones.)  In no time at all she was ready for an other breakfast and some creative time. So we set up a work station at the kitchen bar and marbled some paper (30 sheets to be exact!) using shaving foam and ink.  I did make her put on one of my old T-shirts and rubber gloves, but the bare are from the sleeve to the glove was also well marbled LOL, as well as the edge of the tile clear around to the sink!!

Hannah getting ready to start. Yes, she is standing on a stool. She is also Student of the Month at her school!!

The bounty of our efforts
Mother's Day was great, my DH took me to the beach for fresh fish and chips.  We ended up at Morro Bay, where it was clear and sunny.....just beautiful!  We are at the Great American Fish Company.....YUMMMMMM.

The day before my oldest son paid my way into the Air Show.  It is about 5 minutes from here and used to be an annual event, but hasn't happened in about 10 years, so it was fun to see it back again.  It was very warm Saturday and being out on the tar mat it was about 20' warmer which made it HOT!  I won't bore you with all 206 pictures I took ......LOL I did pay for it, that camera gets heavy and I was using the wrist I just sprained last Monday...OUCH! But so worth it to have some great pictures!

So Happy Tuesday to everyone, sorry about being away for my just happens!

A Little Baby Bug

Cheerful Stamp Pad has a new challenge starting today, it is "It's Natural" and will run for two weeks.
So put on your thinking caps and give your mojo a swift kick and join up!!
Here is my DT sample for week one.
I chose the "Baby Bug" digi from the Stitchy Bear Outlet (Our sponsor this challenge)for this sparkling card. Image was colored with Prisma colored pencils then rhinestones added to the spots on the wings and black stones for the tip of her antani. I chose to mask the image and stencil a floral background instead of trimming her out. I took Gelatos to the front of the card and then stamped tiny flowers all over. I mounted the image on black cs then onto the card. Paper grunge flowers, brushed with black acrylic paint finished it off nicely.
I really like this image, but digis are a challenge, either a white background or trim them out.  So I have been challenging myself to deal with the negative spaces, are you up to the challenge????

Journal page and Tutorial (Photo heavy)

Here is the journal page, and DT project, that was sitting on Betsy  WOYWW 204, featuring This N That plate from Rogue Redhead Designs. So here it is a step by step tutorial of how I created it. I did have an idea of what I was going to do before I began. (for a change)

Good coat of Gesso

I chose a circle sstencil and my Gleatos

I knew what stamp I wanated to use,
so here I am figuring out the placement of it.
Staarting placement of circles with the Gelatos
Circle blended and Rogue Redhead Designs
 Behind the Scenes script stampRRD012
Time for so texture with Modeling Paste and a stencil
Texture applied and image is stamped.
Texture went right over script images and even some on the circles.
Shading the page
Placing a heart around love birds with a pen

Time to paint the stenciled letters
so far so good but there is one more step.....
and that is to go around the letters with a white gel pen.

So there it is, hope it helps those who were asking for a tutorial.  I love the way this page turned out, and the love birds were just perfect for this project.  If you haven't already checked out this plate of stamps you cans see it here:

WOYWW 205 "The DROP zone"

Here we go again.......It's WOYWW time!!!! Check the deets about this outrageous hopping from blog to blog here: what-is-woyww.  Our hostess Mrs. Dunnit or Queen Julia has things set up for you to participate.

So Betsy has seen some action, mostly yesterday and today (I'll explain further below for anyone interested) What you are looking at is how things were "dumped" on her this morning before I went to the Urgent Care (see below) Everyone has voted for the WOYWW letters to remain, so they shall for a while, or until I tire of them....LOL All around the perimeter are the standard tools and toys I feel I need at my finger tips.  In the middle is my art journal that I have been priming for future use and stacked on that are a few DT images for up coming challenges, back ground papers, pencils and what-not.  Under the pile is an extra large clip board I use when I want to color in front of the TV  and of course the first thing I put on and the last thing I take off are my extra set of eye.  So that is it, short and sweet for those just nosing around (which is what it is all about LOL)
Love to read your comments. The journal page that was there last week will pop up this Friday, with lots of pictures and a detailed tutorial..... if your interested!!
Inky Higs

WARNING: stop  here! The following will most likely mke you feel sorry for me, OR will have you laughing until you cry, I really CAN do some stupid things!!!

I have finally gotten all four flower beds cleaned up, dug up flower bulbs and put them in pots, moved some things around, run wire from one palm tree to an other and planted two vining flowers ( hope to have a wall of orange Black Eyed Susan's later this summer) I laid down gardeners cloth in all the flower beds to keep the weeds out. Re-doing four large flower beds does take some time.  I even cleaned one out and planted tomatoes and Basil, with mint and rosemary going into pots........have to have my fresh herbs!!
OK, so why Urgent Care?  Weeelllll, yesterday morning I was putting in the last of the gardener's ground cloth, in the flower bed in the front yard.  I came off the porch, took and hard left and tripped on the garden hose and fell face first onto the concrete boarder of the flower bed!!  First thought:" my hand just hit cement".....Second thought:" Oh shit I'm gonna have a black eye".......Third thought: "get off the ground before the neighbors see you laying here." OUCH!!! I cried for about 20 minutes (after I got back in the house)  I landed on my left cheek and right hand.  My cheek has two nice scrapes and a dent.  My eyebrow is very sore too.  Once Mr. O. took a look and got me a cool clean cloth to press on my face I laid down for a few minutes. BUT I had to get that flower bed finished and a few more flowers planted before it rained (yeah, go figure) So I went back and finished, cleaned the mess up and laid on the sofa the rest of the day, then my right wrist started to swell.  I iced it down, and then wrapped it good and went to bed, and yes, my eye had turned black!
This morning my wrist had doubled in size and I was limited on some movements, but not a lot of pain.  Mr. O. wanted me to get to a Dr. and get it looked at and an X-RAY.  WELL! I called the Dr. that had did the surgery on it about 10 years ago, and they NO LONGER TAKE CASH!!! ONLY INSURANCE!!!  So I had to go to Urgent Care to get the X-RAY and have a Dr. read the X-RAY.
Nothing is broken, just a bad sprain, but the left side of my face is something else!  It has started to lighten up, under the eye already, but the eye lid and inside corner are still BLACK!! I do have pics, but they are on my cell phone. I'll get my cousin to use the camera tomorrow when she comes to visit, can't wait to see her reaction.........LOL I really do have a Hallween face! BUT my flower beds look super clean and so pretty with new flowers here and there.

OK, so enough about all that, if you have read THIS far you are really a great blog buddy, and thanks for letting me blog on and on!!!
Have a great week

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi Blogger Buddies!  We are starting week two of the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad. so the is STILL TIME to join in the fun!!
Floppy Latte Designs, our sponsor, came through again with a great Daisy image. I trimmed out all the negative space so when mounted you could see the designer paper! I used little pop dots under some of the daises to give it some dimension, sorry it doesn't really show up in the scan.  Then mounted it on a black tag! The sentiment is PC generated.

Have a great week!
