Thriving Art

  The Art Journal Journey challenge, for October is Indian Summer - Golden October - Autumn  and Valerie is the hostess this month.   This page started as a mop-up page of acrylic paint, I had a few left over leaves laying about so I glued them down and used a leaf stencil for the others.....just tracing them in.  While watching a little (or a lot) of TV I doodled on the paper leaves and then some in the background with a black Sharpie and a white Gel pen.....just keeping it a little more on the simple side.   Our tress have yet to start turning color, but the weather is starting to cool down during the day, and getting to the "nippy" temperatures at night.........awwwwwh such great sleeping weather. *grin*   So, I think I've gotten everything caught up...that is finished ....... 3 posts in one day!  I keep saying I am NOT going to create so much before posting.......but do I listen? Autumn colors are popping up all over Blogland, now that fall is right around the corner.  The end of summer is the 21st and the 22nd is the first day of fall...........and it is supposed to be 105' here today..the first triple digits we have seen in about 3 weeks.... I guess summer wants THAT last word! A couple new dies finally made it to my doorstep, on being this tree die from Gina Marie Designs........I just LOVE it! Grabbing a scrap of black cs and cutting, I simply placed it over a scrap of designer paper, added it to the card base and then a die cut sentiment that had been laying around my desk.....waaaalaaa! I can see many uses for this die in my future. I am going to enter this card in the following challenges, and I hope you take a little time and check out the DT works on these three challenges......you will not be disappointed ! Well, it's been over a week since my last post.....and what a week it was.....but that's irrelevant. What I have to share today is more of a customer complaint/Friday smiles.....huh????  Let's just go back to yesterday (Thursday)..............   Having some time on my hands, before getting a back adjustment, I stopped in at Michael's Craft Store.......just for some spray adhesive.......     Here is a silly card that depicts my reaction (Friday Smiles)......AGAIN, since it isn't the first store I've walked into, that has it ALL out (customer complaint).  The ONLY defense, I could give them, was all the Halloween/Fall stuff was 70% off.......LOL.......and did I partake?  For sure!!   While wondering down the art supply isle, I started a conversation with a very nice lady that was looking for some good colored pencils.......as she had two adult coloring books in her arms.  She was gathering something to do while she go...

This week I am joining the fantastic artist over at Try it on Tuesday  for the Autumn challenge. This stamp I have had longer than I've had GKs....LOL  It was wood mounted, when new, and since I stripped it off I've lost who the maker was.  BUT it is still one of my favorite fall stamps.  I used Inktense w/c pencils and a damp paint brush to apply the colors.  Fussy cut and mounted with pop dots on a  glossy,navy marbled cs.  Sentiment is from Fiskers I believe......but I could be wrong..LOL  It is a little blurry from the image being raised with the pop dots and using the scanner instead of the camera.
