T Stands for Paint and a New Friend

After having a week of a head cold, which really turned out to be a bad sinus attack, I finally felt like doing SOMETHING this morning.  So I laid out a 16" x 20" canvas board and started playing with an idea that I've had for some time.     I've been making these thin rolls of paper while watching TV from time to time and just throwing them into a shoe box.
Once I got the canvas board covered with Gesso I glued down a few of the thin tubes.
Next came some texture with modeling paste and some stencils
A little more weight was needed so I add a few more thin tubes to the upper left.

Then a coat of white acrylic paint was applied to everything.  I didn't crop this photo cause it is the one that reveals my cup of coffee so I can once again link up with Elizabeth and the Tuesday Tea Gang
There are many, many more steps to this project, and working off and on through the day I nearly have it finished......................but that will have to wait for a later post, cause it will be loaded with photos.........grin

I want to welcome a new friend and followers to my blog.  Lorraine Mastalski and her blog is named Paper Vernissage.  Lorraine's blog is littered with beautiful cards, fantastic Zentangles (and I don't mean doodles like mine....grin) and she loves to use her camera!  Her photographs are there to be admired too.  I hope you'll take a moment and visit her blog and say hi.

So Happy T-day and Inky Hugs
Krisha

Ooh, I can't wait to see how your canvas turns out! Happy T Day :o))
HMM!! Now you have my curiosity piqued. I've seen the rolled papers used as a frame, but never like this. I will stalk you until I see what you have created.

Thanks for sharing your mug and canvas while joining us for T this Tuesday.

I'm cold this morning and am admiring your red/white mug. Love that design :) Happy T(ea) Tuesday!
Your canvas looks fantastic so far--I can't wait to see it finished! I hope you feel better soon--so far I have avoided being sick. I think the snow froze the germs here. :)

I love how this canvas is developing and can barely wait to see what all you do with it. So glad you are feeling better. I hate those sinus issues which just hang in forever :( Now I'm off to check out you new follower.

What a nifty idea1 I'm anxious to see how it all turns out. My daughter-in-law does these little rolls now and then, and she's used them in various art pieces.

Rest and get better!
