Image
Yes, it has finally gotten here the anniversary of the world wide SNOOP!! WAAHOOO!!! This week we are celebrating the 4th anniversary of Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at The Stamping Ground  click the link and see what it is all about. So this week Betsy is a royal dumping ground!! So here she is:  CD cases of stamps open, some foam stamps, gel pens, stack of ATCs, most of those are finished (I think) Glue bottle, stamp cleaner, scissors, tweezers, pot with glue bottles, a plastic tub with an over sized makeup brush for sweeping off Betsy, more stamps, center is my black ink pad and a paper pad I try to work on so I can tear off the pages and have a clean surface to work on.  Right now it is an inky mess Just trying to get my ATCs finished for the swap.  I do have extras if anybody else wants to swap.  I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to do, so each one is different. Here is a closer look at some of the ATCs...

A French Post Card

Image
A new challenge is up at Cheerful Stamp Pad blog  it is "My Kinda Gal" and the sponsor is The Gingerloft, great digi images to play with.  For this first week I chose to do a simple French post card using the Gingerloft digi Umbrella Girl.  This image intrigued me, so simple and yet charming.  All the other images and sentiment are from Recolections.  So check out the deets over at Vickie's and join us in the adventure. Midge in Lace

Image
Once again I am using the NEW This N That Stamp Plate from Rogue Redhead Designs,  and using Midge as the center image for a vintage style hanging.  She was colored with Prisma colored pencils, even the background, then trimmed with a lace and pearl trim. The chip board base was covered with un-bleach muslin and stamped with the Behind the Scenes script stamp RRD012  in aged photo ink. Lay Claim to Your Fate was stamped in the lower corner with the same distressed ink.  I placed Midge at an angle for a little more interest.  Pearl swirls and lace trim were added at the bottom, a grunge flower in the corner, and a gold trim was used for the hanger. Masculine Card: Going Wild

Image
Took some time, this morning, from packing the Playhouse to make a card for my cousin's birthday next week.  This card was made using a Faux Linen technique on the giraffe. You can check it out here: Faux Linen. I masked the giraffe, then used a Rogue Redhead Designs Behind the Scene reverse dot stamp to make the background..  I have had this giraffe sooo long, I truly do not remember who made him (my apologies).  I am entering this in these challenges. Try it Tuesday: On The Wild Side. Unscripted Sketches # 211 Hiding in My Craftroom challenge #98 Hope your Tuesday is a Great Day Don't forget WOYWW TOMORROW Inky Hugs Krisha

Celebratie Your Birthday Tag

Image
" Monday, Monday, so good to me...." ( I will humm this song all day ) I do hope that all our blog friends, that lived through some devastating tornadoes, over the weekend are all safe and sound.  Things are just "stuff" that can be replaced, but our friends are priceless. Soooo, what a weekend around here.  Saturday morning I started by getting all inky with this tag.  I did a gel resist first, to make the background, then wet the tag and ran inks all down it, spraying more water as I went.  I had some tattered flowers cut out of white cs, so I put a little ink in the centers, and on the leaves.  They looked a little dry, so they got a spritz of H2O and wrinkle.  I found a chip board butterfly and used Inktense pencil and a wet brush to blend in the ink.  I added seed beedz to the center of the flowers and turquoise beedz to the edge of the butterfly. The sentiments were chosen because it was MY birthday Saturday and I have decided to...

Spring Flowers are Blooming!!

Image
It's Spring and the flowers are blooming! It is the second week of the "It's Natural" challenge at Cheerful Stamp Pad blog  with the Stitchy Bear Outlet being the sponsor.  There is still time to join us with all your works of nature projects. For this card I printed out the digi image and stamped over it with a script stamp form .Rogue Redhead Designs: RRD012  Behind the Scenes, then colored them with bright colored markers.  They were fussy cut and mounted onto an embossed dot paper, then on to a red cs.  I chose a red and white dot ribbon and added it in a wavy pattern. The sentiment is from  the This N That half plate of stamps new release by Rogue Redhead Designs new release . Just a quick and simple card in bright colors. Inky Hugs Krisha

Floral Tag

Image
I finished the tag that was on my desk Wednesday.  It is a new Hero Arts stamp that I have a love/hate relationship with.  Love the image, hate that it doesn't stamp well.  Has a couple of places that the image is shallow and won't print.  I even pulled it off the wood and added Easy mount too.  Oh well, it is what it is, good thing it was at 50% off!! I am going to enter this in the Unruly Paper Arts RAQ1: 5 or more flowers   Hope you can get there and vote for me between May 26 and May 31. Inky Hugs Krisha

Grandma's Got a Brand New Bag

Image
Before Happy Friday!! Well it really isn't a brand new bag, cause I can't seem to find one I really like. ( I am very picky when it comes to a new purse ) So I was digging about in the hall cupboard and came across an old purse that I really did like, guess that is why I kept it. It had white paint on it here and there, and I had grown tired of it, so into the cupboard t went. I decided to it was rather boring to look at and thought about it. Went back to Betsy and loaded my arms with supplies and came back to the kitchen and began. before   after stamps and rhinestones, I used StaysOn ink for this Love the way it turned out, and proudly carried it to my GD's, Hannah, school open house last night.  But I do remember the main reason I stopped carrying it.  I holds quite a bit of unnecessary stuff, and if I have room I'll fill it up.  So the challenge is NOT to carry anything that is NOT necessary!  Can I do it?? Well that is...

Masculine Birthday Card and the rest of the story!

Image
Yep! This is the card that was laying on my desk yesterday.  TH makes it so much easier to make masculine cards these days, just love it since I have 2 sons.  As you know I found some great sales last week and one of them was this die.  I cut it using a cream cs, then splattered it with distressed inks.  The center of the clock is stamped with a Hero Arts happy birthday sentiment, distressed with a little ink then the clock was put back together, using a brad for clock hands.  Celebrate was stamped onto a thin sheet of cork, then mounted on an embossed snippet from my stash.  It all sits on a very dark brown cs and then onto the card base that had been grunged up with blue and brown ink.  A few clock gears for embellishment and I was done. It is a birthday card for my oldest son, who's birthday isn't until August. No, I am not THAT organised, let's get that one straight right now!! So why is it finished so early?  ( Story below, or you can...

WOYWW 206

Image
So it's Tuesday night here is California, but it's Wednesday for the hostess Julia Dunnit so it is time for some blog jumping.  What is this all about? Click the link and get the details, then play along with the rest of Blogland What is WOYWW? Here is Betsy tonight, just as I left her to go take a shower and get my jammies on.  I have been playing around off and on all day and all I accomplished is one card!! LOL So what are ya looking at?? My nasty, inky rag, a pretty container with a jar of pens and pencils, my new Stampendous stamp, stamps with sentiments, black in pad, a card for my son's birthday (in August), a tag I'm still puttering about with, A New Hero Arts stamp in the back, water pot in front of that, pot with glue bottles up side down, scissors, glasses, clip, paper towels and the standard stuff around the edges.  Behind the right light there are a couple of DT pieces I did have to push out of view, they will be coming up later. Last Fr...

Spring in Paris... I wish

Image
Here we are at the middle of May already, I can't believe how fast time seems to be moving.  This is always a busy time of year for us, but this year seems even more so. I have been getting caught up on DT work and that has been about it for my blog.  Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day. I have been fumbling around with a few non-DT things and Mr. MOJO just wasn't having anything to do with me!  So frustrating when you have some new stamps to play with! I finally remembered how to get him to start playing again........KEEP IT SIMPLE!!   So I went back to Betsy and started with this new stamp from Stampendous, wonderful stamp.  It inked so well and the image turned out so clean and crisp.  I used a little Prisma pencil and OMS for the flowers, then did a little layering and added some black and white ribbons.  I was done in no time at all. Yesterday my oldest GD, Hannah, was not feeling well enough to go to school, bei...

A Little Baby Bug

Image
Cheerful Stamp Pad  has a new challenge starting today, it is "It's Natural" and will run for two weeks. So put on your thinking caps and give your mojo a swift kick and join up!! Here is my DT sample for week one. I chose the "Baby Bug" digi from the Stitchy Bear Outlet (Our sponsor this challenge)for this sparkling card. Image was colored with Prisma colored pencils then rhinestones added to the spots on the wings and black stones for the tip of her antani. I chose to mask the image and stencil a floral background instead of trimming her out. I took Gelatos to the front of the card and then stamped tiny flowers all over. I mounted the image on black cs then onto the card. Paper grunge flowers, brushed with black acrylic paint finished it off nicely.  I really like this image, but digis are a challenge, either a white background or trim them out.  So I have been challenging myself to deal with the negative spaces, are you up to the challenge???...

Journal page and Tutorial (Photo heavy)

Image
Here is the journal page, and DT project, that was sitting on Betsy  WOYWW 204, featuring This N That plate from Rogue Redhead Designs. So here it is a step by step tutorial of how I created it. I did have an idea of what I was going to do before I began. (for a change) Good coat of Gesso ,  I chose a circle sstencil and my Gleatos I knew what stamp I wanated to use, so here I am figuring out the placement of it. Staarting placement of circles with the Gelatos Circle blended and Rogue Redhead Designs   Behind the Scenes script stampRRD012   Time for so texture with Modeling Paste and a stencil Texture applied and image is stamped.  Texture went right over script images and even some on the circles.   Shading the page Placing a heart around love birds with a pen Time to paint the stenciled letters so far so good but there is one more step.....  and that ...

WOYWW 205 "The DROP zone"

Image
Here we go again.......It's WOYWW time!!!! Check the deets about this outrageous hopping from blog to blog here: what-is-woyww .   Our hostess Mrs. Dunnit or Queen Julia  has things set up for you to participate. So Betsy has seen some action, mostly yesterday and today (I'll explain further below for anyone interested) What you are looking at is how things were "dumped" on her this morning before I went to the Urgent Care (see below) Everyone has voted for the WOYWW letters to remain, so they shall for a while, or until I tire of them....LOL All around the perimeter are the standard tools and toys I feel I need at my finger tips.  In the middle is my art journal that I have been priming for future use and stacked on that are a few DT images for up coming challenges, back ground papers, pencils and what-not.  Under the pile is an extra large clip board I use when I want to color in front of the TV  and of course the first thing I put on and the last thing I ...

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Image
Hi Blogger Buddies!  We are starting week two of the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.  so the is STILL TIME to join in the fun!! Floppy Latte Designs , our sponsor, came through again with a great Daisy image. I trimmed out all the negative space so when mounted you could see the designer paper! I used little pop dots under some of the daises to give it some dimension, sorry it doesn't really show up in the scan.  Then mounted it on a black tag! The sentiment is PC generated. Have a great week! Inky Hugs Krisha
