A New Art Journal

Welcome blogging friends! Gosh, can you believe we nearing the end of the first week of November and that Thanksgiving is only 21 DAYS away?? GASP!!!

Art Journal Journey has a new challenge for November......NO FACES, NO WINGS, NO LEAVES but COLLAGE Susi's choice this month.....isn't she a clever one? No faces, no wings, no leaves.....Making us step out of our comfort zones....Bravo Susi!
I decided to break out a new journal that has been sitting on the shelf....from back when Michael's had a super sale on them......buy one get two free..........I mean, really would you have passed that sale up??

I chose to use a paper weave for the background, this is an old scrapbooking technique, but was just brought back to my attention when I joined up with The Inspiration Place.

Speaking of Michael's Craft Store........ I dashed in there yesterday to pick up some white alcohol ink and walked by one of those isle bins that had a sign that said TODAYS SPECIAL....and it was those huge 12" X 12"designer paper packs for $5.00!!!!!! They are regularly $19.99......without a coupon.  Well I think my paper stash is down to about 60 or 70 pounds, so I picked up 4 new packs.
My rule of thumb: You can NEVER have too much pretty paper.......or glue......or paint.....or stamps...or markers......well, you get the idea! LOL!!!

This is terrific. The woven background is so effective and I like the spots and hearts and the message. What a great start to a new journal.
Lovely page and the paper weave for the background is wonderful! It's so great to find a bargain and I'm with you, you can never have too many supplies in your craft stash :-). Wishing you a great week! Jo :-)

I haven't created paper weaving for so long, I can barely remember it. You did a beautiful job, and the way you handled Susi's challenge is fantastic. Way to use that thinking cap.
