What's the blog world doing?  Why playing along with What's On Your Wrokdesk Wednesday with Julia .  So let the party begin!! Betsy is once again a mess of papers and crafty business.  I finished my envelope and card book you can see it HERE  , now there is a new one in the beginnings there in the front right with G45 papers behind and under it.  My I-Pod station remote, a card that I all of a sudden decided to make for a challenge (not quite finished), pencils, ruler,  corner rounder, ink pads and I'm not sure about that tape measure or why it is even laying there, a couple pairs of scissors and all my necessities in the background. A closer look at the second book I am making this one is just envelopes and slide-out photo holders.  This is using the "stack the deck" binding and I think it is way easier and faster AND will provide more room for embellishments.  I got it from You Tube, here is the video. Here is a crooked shot o...

T Stands for Tuesdy

Image
Well it is early Tuesday morning here in California, and here is my "mug" shot for this week. No that is not a picture of me ( LOL ) that is a mail art post card from Trisha, a DT sister. THANKS TRISHA!!! The mug of coffee is MY mug shot. ( New coffee mugs...yea !)  I am once again linking up with Elizabeth and Bluebeard  for tea, coffee, hot chocolate or any beverage of preference. Wasn't going to join the fun this week as I have a totally busy morning, but my coffee wasn't tasting quite right, without joining in.  Funny how it tastes so much better RIGHT now!  LOL So just a quick post to say "Hello world", now off to quickly link with Elizabeth and Bluebeard , then get dressed and get my dog to the vet to get stitches removed form her leg.  She had a melanoma removed about 2 weeks ago.  Here she is ( on the bed of course ) with her bandage on her leg.   She can tell time, cause she isn't allowed a chew treat until ...

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Image
Time for week two of the Cheerful Stamp Pad Challenge  TAGS!  I chose to put my tag onto a card this week, I need a card along this line, so I combined the two.  The image and sentiment are from McMahon Five Designs, our sponsor.  I printed the image, then cut it into the tag size I wanted, colored it with Prisma pencils and Gelatoes for aging.  I chose three coordinating colors of card stock to mount the tag onto, added a grunge swirl, colored with Gelatoes and tied it off with raffia. Next it was mounted onto a dry embossed panel, then onto a black panel, and finally onto the card. So we are only half way through this challenge and there is still time to enter your tag in the challenge.  Hope to see your name on Mr. Linky!! Inky Hugs Krisha

My First Card and Envelope Book (VERY photo heavy)

Image
Finished! Finally Finished!  This was a lot of fun to make, but turned very time consuming, I had to go back to the video to check things, then all the flip flop prints were printed on the PC. Using Sew-In Inkjet Fabric Sheets,  I printed a background from McMahon Five Designs and covered the front and back covers.  On the front I had added “Enjoy the Journey” using Print Shop. The binding is a silver duct tape with a ribbon closure. Pictures below of all the pages.  There are photo mats, today journal. post cards, ATC, cards and tags through the whole book. Can you figure the theme is flip flops and palm trees??? LOL page 1 and components where everything belongs with card in pocket and closed pages 2 and 3 w/ components Where everything belongs, no card pocket here pages 5 and 6 with components  where everything belongs with card in pocket and closed pages 7 and 8 with components where comp...

RRD Journal page

Image
Hi everybody, today to share an art journal page with nothing but Rogue Redhead Design stamps.  This was really a fun page to make and has all kinds of texture on it, plus acrylic paint.  The textures are  drywall tape and cardboard, plus the arrows and the word rogue are grunge board items that have been colored with Gelatos. I took all my RRD stamps and put them out on Betsy (yes I named my desk) and just started opening the cases and grabbing stamps, so to name each plate of stamps would make this a very long post, but they can all be found here: Rogue Redhead Design Stamps .  Hope everybody has a great weekend. WOYWW 216 Besty's Loaded!!

Image
Yep! Betsy is loaded with all kinds of paper and tools for making an envelope and card book.  I watched a video on You Tube by Kathy Orta, she has it all down in 4 videos that start with this one .  So there in the center is my first signature and the starting of the second one.  Looking to the right is the cart I keep my paper trimmer on and it loaded with paper too, even stacked on top of my boxes of stamps Looking to the left is my roll-about with drawers pulled out to hold....you guessed it PAPER!  Even down to the floor. Lots of photos but keeping it short, cause that is Ms. Julia's request.  What? Well, I am going on about What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday  and I think EVERYBODY has heard about it by now. Well, I'm off to link up and get an early start at snooping, cause Julia has already posted!  LOL I've been trying to make at least 100 desks every week, in no particular order!! Inky Hugs Krisha

T stands for Tuesday

Image
Good morning "T" friends, and coffee drinkers!  So here's my cup of coffee this morning, in my Sea World cup.  So why am I showing you my cup of coffee?  Travel over here to The Altered Book Lover blog and Elizabeth will tell you all about it. This is our second week and anybody can join, you don't have to drink tea or coffee. Since our last "T" morning I had my Grand-Ds come visit, here is  Megan all set up and having a "Tea" party.  Now they can't just have water in their tea pots, it HAS to be colored water, well this time it was colored juice!! LOL  Yes her outfit looks a little strange for a 3 yr. old.  They always "dress-up"" in my old night gowns when they come for the day or for a sleep over.  Hannah was busy making breakfast for her babies.   Besides playing with my Grand-Ds I have been busy.  I finally got around to that crazy box of ribbon, and got it all sorted and organized so I can see ...

ODE TO THE PISMO CLAM

Image
Time for a NEW challenge over at Cheerful Stamp Pad .  For the next two weeks it is TAGS , and the sponsor is McMahon Five Designs. For the first week I chose this flip flop background paper for the tag.  I printed one set of flip flops large and trimmed them out. They are attached with pop dots for some dimension, I added some die cut flowers  from TH Tattered flowers and mounted them over the printed ones.  I added a pint rhinestone flower to the center of each of those flowers. The edges of the flip flops and the tag were distressed with blue ink. For the sand at the bottom corner I used a mix of gold and glitter gold embossing powders.  The shells are real ones from my stash.  I had to use sticker for he letters ( somehow I have lost a few from my alphabet set )  The top sentiment is a $$store find, and a pretty ribbon tie, also from my stash finishes the tag. Why ODE to the Pismo Clam?  Pismo Beach was very well know for it’s clams up...

Mail Art: Milliner Misses

Image
What a day this has been!  The dog got me up earlier than I planned this morning, 5:05am ugh! Thinking I would let her out then go back to bed for an other 30 minutes.  Well the coffee pot had already started ( it is on a timer ) and it smelled soooo good, and it was so nice an cool on the patio and well, I just stayed up.  So that meant an early time with Betsy and I decided to give the sketch laying there a try.  It is a Rogue Redhaed Designs Sketch .  So keeping with the Rogue Redheads I used one of their Milliner Misses Stamps stamps, and three of their Behind the Scenes Stamps to make a post card…yep! More Mail ART .  I used a heavy photograph paper and Timber StazOn ink, and a little masking. I mounted this onto a white c.s. for mailing.  It is a real post card and will be mailed tomorrow. There is no light blue, that is just compliments of the scanner. Oh ya, the scanner didn’t want to work this morning either, so in fooling with it, the P...

WOYWW 215: What’s on Betsy

Image
Well it’s time for an other WOYW, didn’t we JUST DO THIS??  Oh ya, an other week has slipped through my fingers….LOL  So here is Betsy this week. If your new you need to start here: What is WOYWW   Then link up here: Stamping Ground . I have been trying a few things, like the paper feather in the middle, and those folded things are practice pages for an ATC book ( I watched a video on them on You Tube this morning after T stands for Tuesday , did you check it out this morning?) There is also a Graphic 45 tablet waiting for an other idea, Hannah’s birthday card there on the right on top of those same ATC that were there last week ( guess I should get those posted ) There is a sketch challenge I’m still thinking on, a piece of paper from a Thomas Kincaid paper pack and the rest is the typical “ Betsy stuff” Many people have left comments about my desk being called Betsy.  Yes, I did name my desk on a whim one week, and decided to leave her named Next up is t...

T is for Tuesday, and a Post Card From the Edge

Image
YEAH!! This is the FIRST T is for Tuesday, being hosted by Elizabeth and Bluebeard owner of the Altered Book Blog .  (Hi Elizabeth and Bluebeard!!)  So grab a cuppa  your favorite beverage and enjoy the day. First I want to share my entry for the Unruly Paper Arts RAQ 1: Post Cards from the Edge .   It is a crop of a journal page I finished this weekend, then printed on photo paper and mounted onto card stock.  I did put the words  post card on it digitally.  Now why would I crop and print this? Because it really is going to be a post card that will go through the mail.  Can’t be a post card if ya don’t mail the darn thing!! LOL I did not want too much dimension on it to go through the mail and a chance to have it torn apart before it reaches the receiver.  I will put  spray sealer on it before I mail it too. Voting for the post cards from the edge will be from July 26 through the 31st, so please vote for me!! I had planned on showi...

Turning Seven and what's coming up tomorrow

Image
My oldest granddaughter, Hannah, will be turning 7 years old on the 26th next month. Where does the time fly off too??  I've been thinking, and thinking of what kind of card to make for her.  I mean 7 going on 13 is a hard age to create for....LOL    Saturday I sat down at Betsy and was just kinda cleaning things up a bit, when I found this Free digi image from Cheryl Seslar Design stuck in an envelope waiting to be colored, so I thought "why not?"  She made me think of Hannah, so she got the golden red hair, and Hannah's new favorite color is blue, and that is how this image got colored.  I wanted a girly card, since Hannah just got her ears pierced Friday, and can that girl bat her eyes now and make sure you notice her earrings!....LOL  The frame is from a Anna Griffin kit I bought ages ago.  I added pearls to the design and lace around the edge.  I did cut an oval in the card and sandwiched a piece of vellum over the oval....

Antique Anniversary Tag

Image
Good morning Peeps, glad you stopped by,  This morning I had a vintage style tag to share with you.  It is week two of The Cheerful Stamp Pad challenge 64: You Make a Lovely Couple .   Twisted Paper is our sponsor and provided this sweet image to play with.  I covered the tag with a scrap of designer paper from Scrap in a Snap, then added the photo. For some elegance I added lace trim and pearls at the bottom and the top,  Three hand made paper flowers  and a ribbon tie finished it off.  I did distress the edges with TH Vintage Photo distressing ink.  I also added a bit of color to the photo, in the bouquet she is holding, only it doesn't really show up very well.   This is the beginning of week two of this challenge, so there's still plenty of time to join us.    Inky Hugs............Krisha                    ...

Be BOLD

Image
Happy Saturday!! Today I want to share a card with one of my fav. Stamp Zia images  I have used her for years and never get tired of her.  She was colored with pencil and lots of glitter added, then mounted on a hand-made background paper.  The sentiment is a $ store find, no manufacturer's name on it.  It was stamped on Vellum and then trimmed out.  The card is one of the few hand-made cards that I have left. Hope everybody is having a great weekend! Inky Hugs Krisha PS. the red spot on her cheek is donated by my scanner!

Beach Canvas for RRD DT project

Image
I chose a 5" x 7" canvas for this project, just getting back from a week at the beach makes me melancholy to go right back!  I wanted a really weathered look for the background and things got a little tricky.  I started with a couple coats of Gesso, leaving heavy lines in it.  Once that was dry I added a coat of white acrylic paint, and using the embossing gun started drying it, and dragging my paint brush back through it to make it rough. I repeated the same step again and let it dry good.  Then came the crackle finish and a couple hours of drying.   To make the crackle stand out I used a brown Gelato and a baby wipe to get the color into the cracks and still wipe off the excess.  I continued to use the Gelatos to color the background, making the sky, ocean and the beach, I used my finger to rub the colors on.  I stamped the sail boat onto the canvas with StazOn black ink, so the birds and thin lines of the mast would show, and before...

New ART Journal pages

Image
Well, I finally got around to playing with my two new stamp sets from JOFY.  I have wanted these from day one, finally just ordered them just because!!......LOL  I just love the sketchiness of these images.  So they were stamped with black StazOn ink, colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, then I took the Gelatos to the back ground.  I wanted the JOFY name, but didn't want to copy it, so I cut it out of the package and glued it on.  Yesterday, between desk hopping for WOYWW, this page was created.  Yep, I got the TH gear die too!  They were cut from all kinds of cs but I went over them with Gesso, so it didn't really matter.  After the Gesso I used black, terra cotta and yellow acrylic paint......WOOOHA! way to intense, so I did a white wash over all of it.  Found a piece of cardboard, in the garage, and tore a piece off, then tore the paper off one side of it and added it to the page.  Needed a little color so a swiped it with ...
