To the Moon and Back

Before heading off on our "mini vacay" I had made this journal page on evening, while thinking of our oldest Granddaughter.  Of course the saying in NOT new, but it is something I've been saying to her since the day she was born.

It started with a page of "left over paint".  I traced my shapes with the masks I was going to use....just to get the layout in my mind.

Then a script stamp was used over the masks with Stazon ink.

I painted around the shapes, added music napkins and white....I'll call them motion stripe with a credit card.

A closer look, before adding the Gelatos, which I had to redo after the Gelatos...LOL!

After the Gelatos were added and more motion stripes!

Because the Gelatos have a milky, or chalky look, over other colors, I had to reline the shapes.
I added the stamped sentiment, swirls, the word Dream and some stars.  The stars were stamped with white paint, that I also highlighted the other words and swirls with.  I did draw the dangling heart on the moon too.

Of course this saying was expanded on many times with "and past the sun, twice around the world, and past the stars"  LOL!   The journey of our love always grew and grew.....now she's almost ten.  We still say "to the moon and back", but I sometimes wonder how much longer????

How far does your LOVE travel??

Since JOURNEYS are the challenge over at Art Journal Journey , until the end of the month I'll link this page up. Hope you will at least stop by the challenge and see some of the other journey links, so much eye candy.......there is SOMETHING for EVERYBODY to enjoy.

A great journal page Krisha. I really enjoyed reading how you did it too. Barbxx
This is wonderful Krisha. I love it. And it might be an old saying but it is a wonderful saying. And even better when you said how you say it to your granddaughter. Have a great mini vaca! Hugs-Erika
Wow, Krisha, this is gorgeous. Seems you actually made much of it twice after all was said and done. It's a gorgeous page, and I like how you took us through each of the steps as you created it. Where in the world did you get that incredible music napkin? What a find. And of course, that's my favorite black ink, too. Great page for AJJ.
