Journal 52 week 4: Silhouttes

It is an other GRAY day here in our neck of California.  I didn't get out early enough to show the FOG that preceded the gray.  Don't pay any attention to those flowers.....they are fake...LOL  I couldn't keep real ones alive in that during the summer, so I just "faked it!"

With weeks of these gray days I start longing for a was beach to sit on and watch the sunset, so when Chelle, over at Journal 52, sent out this week's prompt, this is where it took me.

Here is a quick photo tutorial on how I did this journal page........or just skip to the comments...LOL
Anyway you choose I just want to thank you for stopping by
Masked off the horizon, laid the silhouette of the beach in, then added yellow and pink in the sky.  I used all acrylic paint for this journal page

I used a brayer to blend in the sky
After pulling the tape off I laid in a few silhouettes of clouds
The nest step was adding the water
I needed a silhouette of some palm trees, so I printed off a digital, I have stored on my PC.  I used scissors and that exact-o knife to cut them out.

Once everything was good and dry I just free-handed the lettering in, with a black Sharpie, and gel pens......doodling the word sand.

The finish....again

Closer look, before I put in the break water, at the doodling of the word sand, where I also stuck the week number......grin
I also want to give a shout out for Unruly Paper Arts and their Readers Art Quest (RAQ).  They have a challenge this month and this photo for inspiration.

I am thinking I might just link this up over there.  I just used the Global Traveler, not the colors...................what do you think???

Don't forget to let me know you came by.
Inky Hugs

Krisha, this is blow me away gorgeous. I love how you did this, and SO admire your exacto knife skills. This is great. Seems like we all could use some warmer sunny weather about now. You have made me want to visit that beach and like under the palm tree, which is my favorite, by the way.

Love this Corrine~~ Did you cut out those palm trees as a stencil and then use paint or did you print them out black then cut them out and glue them down??? Hard to tell.. Hugs! deb

Krisha.... this is wonderful... I love the tutorial steps... Your doodeling is awesome... I really want to start doing more of that on my work... I can't seem to find a good white pen, but then I've heard it's not really about the pen but that you need to let the background completely dry and I think that's my problem... I'm an impatient creator...lol.. Thanks for participating in this months RAQ at Unruly... Have a beautiful day !
Lovely journal page, Krisha. Thanks so much for playing along with us at UPA RAQ this month
