A New Travel Journal & Photo challenge

Well, January has had a good start, and we have arrived on the 3rd day already.....hmmmmm I've already started to hear that ole familiar woooooshing sound! LOL!!

I was playing around with making a new travel journal......after watching numerous You Tube videos.  This is the end result,  a tri fold covered, half fold sheets of cardstock, 4 signatures of 3 sheets, folded in half....making 24 pages........got that???

I used a piece of stiff felt for the cover, then a wide piece of sunflower fabric (left over from my fall table cloth) and a pocket I cut off an old pair of jeans....they no longer fit anyway....*grin*

The ribbon actually runs through the shank button I sewed on, so that I wouldn't loose the ribbon.  The charms were hot glued on.

This is the back cover, I did take a moment and stitched the sunflower fabric on at the bottom, so it left me with some extra pockets......for extra stash.  Beats carrying zip lock bags every where.  My butt must be BIG, since the pocket, on the front, came all the way around to the back!!

The inside flap, with an other pocket for goodies.

While roaming Blogland, this morning, I stopped by Lorraine's blog, Paper Verissage and she had a post up of a Photo Challenge from Planet Clare.  I hopped over there and took a look at the challenge list and thought I might give it a try. Today the challenge is "blue", figuring the travel journal fits, along with this photo of our fireplace mantel. I do have a thing about cobalt blue glass.

What is tomorrows challenge?  You'll have to come back tomorrow, or jump over to Clare's blog....or do both.....
Are YOU up for the challenge?  Her list is interesting......

Love the travel journal . . . and your blue glass. My mom used to collect colored glass . . . and the blue was one of her favorites. Have a wonderful day!
I love this Krisha! Those sunflowers are a great splash of Summer colour along with the blue! Giggled at your comment on the size of the pocket! Chrisx
Wow Krisha, this puts me in mind of my scrappy journals I make. I love to make them, don't want to use them. That's my quirkiness I guess.

Love the front of this one. Got a kick out of your butt!

Glad to see you are playing in this challenge, but since I only went to Sally's today, I doubt I will ever play in her challenge. I DO like the one Halle showed on her blog today, because it seems more doable to me, even though, like Halle, I'm starting a month late.

happy New year. Forging ahead with travel, very nice. I am hung up on journaling Documented life project, Journal 52(under new ownership) and FauxBonichi, the latter is OK has a million rules and some very uptight contributors who set out pages for a whole year, layouts for everyday!!!!!
I wanted to be able to go back and find those things that you know you did but when!!
Have a great one. Since my finger accident writing etc has been harder so not commenting as often. Finger is improving. Also have new phone so trying to learn how to use. I swear Verizon blows them up after 2 years.
